Naudline Pierre

Naudline Pierre’s (American, b. 1989) work situates personal mythology and transcendent intimacy alongside canonical narratives of devotion. Her works continue the art-historical tradition of portraying encounters between the earthly and the otherworldly, extending this lineage of image-making by injecting the conventions of her discipline with ephemerality and ambiguity. Drawing from fantasy and Renaissance iconography, she reconfigures formal systems from the past to generate new possible futures grounded in the here and now.

Forthcoming solo exhibitions of Pierre’s work are scheduled at the Akron Museum of Art, OH, and the Institute of Contemporary Art, Miami, FL.  Recent solo exhibitions of her work were presented at The Drawing Center (2023) and the Dallas Museum of Art (2021). Her work is in the permanent collections of the Art Gallery of Ontario, Canada; Brooklyn Museum, NY; the Dallas Museum of Art, TX; The Dean Collection, Macedon, NY; The Gund at Kenyon College, Gambier, OH; Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Washington, DC; ICA Miami, Miami, FL; Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, Kansas City, MO; Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, TX; Nasher Museum of Art at Duke University, Durham, NC; Perez Art Museum Miami, FL; Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture, Washington, DC; Speed Art Museum, Louisville, KY; Williams College Museum of Art, Williamstown, MA; and the CC Foundation, Shanghai, China. About the Partnership
The exhibitions Aliza Nisenbaum and Naudline Pierre mark the fifth iteration of a recent curatorial partnership between The FLAG Art Foundation and the Parrish Art Museum. Between 2026 and 2030, the two organizations will collaborate on three exhibitions annually across two adjoining galleries at the Museum. This partnership builds on the recent FRESH PAINT collaboration, a rotating series of single-artwork exhibitions at the Parrish that began in June 2024. Signaling the deepening relationship between FLAG and the Parrish, this expanded partnership also marks the growth of FLAG’s commitment to supporting contemporary art practices of all forms beyond its brick-and-mortar exhibition spaces in Manhattan.
