About the Artist
Pianist and composer Bill O’Connell brings his dynamic Latin Jazz Express to Parrish Art Museum for the official kickoff of Hamptons JazzFest, joined by Grammy Award-winning trumpeter Randy Brecker. Blending Afro-Caribbean rhythms with straight-ahead jazz, the ensemble delivers an electrifying evening of rich improvisation, bold arrangements, and world-class musicianship. Known for his masterful compositions and decades-long influence on the Latin jazz scene, O’Connell leads a powerhouse band that seamlessly bridges tradition and innovation. Featuring Bill O’Connell on piano, Randy Brecker on trumpet, Conrad Herwig on trombone, Lincoln Goines on bass, and Robby Ameen on drums, this opening night promises a vibrant celebration of rhythm, culture, and contemporary jazz.
In collaboration with Hamptons JazzFest, the Parrish Art Museum presents three thrilling concerts this summer (July through September) on the Mildred C. Brinn Terrace and Event Lawn, bringing world-class jazz performances and artists to the East End.
Thank you to Crozier Fine Arts for their support of the Hamptons JazzFest Kickoff Party.
The Parrish Art Museum’s programs are made possible, in part, by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Kathy Hochul and the New York State Legislature, and by the property taxpayers from the Southampton Union Free School District and the Tuckahoe Common School District.
