Special Program: Solar Eclipse Watch With the Montauk Observatory

Please note, we welcome reservations for this program but can NO LONGER SUPPLY OR GUARANTEE GLASSES because we have a very limited supply on hand.

Join us on the Parrish lawn as we team up with Montauk Observatory for a rare glimpse of the solar eclipse, also known as "The Great American Eclipse." From Oregon to the Carolina's, a narrow band of darkness will sweep across our continent and anyone in its path will see the sight of a lifetime as the moon temporarily blocks the sun.

On the East End, we will be able to observe a partial (about 70%)
eclipse of the sun, which will begin at 1:23 pm, reach maximum at 2:44
pm, and end at 4:00 pm. Montauk Observatory astronomers will operate a
telescope that will enable visitors to safely view the sun, and will be
available to answer questions. Bring a blanket or lawn chair for
outdoor viewing. In addition, the Parrish will stream the total eclipse live from NASA in the Lichtenstein Theater.

Advance reservations are strongly encouraged.
