FILM: Embrace of The Serpent

Photo: Andrés Córdoba

Filmed in stunning black-and-white, director Ciro Guerra centers on Karamakate, an Amazonian shaman and last survivor of his people, and his friendship, in a 40-year interval, with two Western scientists in search of the sacred, psychedelic Yakruna plant.
