Celebrating the Museum’s 125th anniversary, this publication corresponds to the landmark exhibition honoring the East End’s rich artistic legacy and bringing greater attention to major artists practicing here today. Forty-one renowned artists with deep local roots selected works from the collection to be shown along with their own. The exhibition drove a renewed dialogue between the Museum’s past and future and revealed new perspectives of its collection through the lens of a diverse roster of artists. The fully-illustrated 360-page exhibition catalogue includes foreword and acknowledgements by Parrish Executive Director, Mónica Ramírez-Montagut, essays by Parrish Chief Curator, Corinne Erni, and the Museum of Modern Art’s Director of Content, Prudence Peiffer, a detailed timeline of the Museum, and complete checklist.
