Youth Workshop with Lonnie Holley

Workshop for ages 8 and up. Parents are welcome to attend.  Co-presented by the Parrish Art Museum and Southampton Youth Association.

Meet the artist and create sculpture with wire and other found materials.

Lonnie Holley was an artist in residence at the Elaine de Kooning House in East Hampton in the Fall of 2020, and his work is currently on view at the Parrish Art Museum. During the 5-week residency, Holley created over 100 works, including sculpture made largely from material found on the property. Born in Alabama in 1950, Holley became a visionary artist and musician, filling a 1-acre Birmingham property with sculpture constructed from found objects. Holley’s work has been collected by museums across the United States, including the Smithsonian American Art Museum and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York.
