Techniques of Painting
August 19, 2019, 3 pm - 4:30 pm
For ages 9 and older.
In this 3-day workshop, children ages 9 and older will engage with works of art in the Parrish galleries and create their own original paintings inspired by artists Helen Frankenthaler, Fairfield Porter, and Charles Bell! Students will learn about each artists’ unique approach to painting and will experiment with different techniques, materials, and color palettes. The workshop will include developing realistic and abstract paintings and exploring different types of paint application and color mixing strategies.
Beginners and experienced painters are welcomed!
