Salon Series: Chamber Music Featuring Fellows from the New World Symphony

May 3, 2019, 6 pm - 8 pm

The New World Symphony (NWS) Ensemble—fresh from a concert by the entire NWS orchestra at Carnegie Hall—will appear in a special concert at the Parrish Art Museum. The 12-person chamber ensemble performs as part of Salon Series, the Museum’s classical music program featuring world-class artists performing in an intimate, casual setting.

The New World Symphony, America’s Orchestral Academy, prepares graduates of music programs for leadership roles in professional orchestras and ensembles. In the 31 years since its co-founding by Artistic Director Michael Tilson Thomas and Lin and Ted Arison, New World Symphony has helped launch the careers of more than 1,100 alumni worldwide. A laboratory for the way music is taught, presented and experienced, the New World Symphony consists of 87 young musicians, and offers in-depth exposure to traditional and modern repertoire, professional development training and personalized experiences working with leading guest conductors, soloists and visiting faculty. A 12-person chamber ensemble from the NWS will perform at the Parrish.

Salon Series is generously supported by Louis K. and Susan P. Meisel, Sandy and Stephen Perlbinder, The Jeannette and H. Peter Kriendler Charitable Trust, and sponsored by Yamaha Artist Services, Inc.
Friday nights are made possible, in part, by Presenting Sponsor:
Additional support provided by The Corcoran Group and Sandy and Stephen Perlbinder.
