Join us for a special concert with master kora player Yacouba Sissoko and Moussa Diabate on the N’goni (a string instrument), in a duo performance in collaboration with Hamptons Jazz Fest.

Yacouba Sissoko, a master kora player, has devoted his musical gift to expand the awareness of West African history and culture, with performances that transform traditional songs into modern passages with a flexible virtuosity. Born in Kita, Mali, Sissoko began learning the kora, a 21-stringed instrument at the age of 9, and began touring internationally by age 15. Based in New York City since 1998, Sissoko expanded beyond West African music, and expanded his repertoire to include jazz, pop, R&B, and classical styles, recording and performing with a variety of artists, including Harry Belafonte, Paul Simon, Leroy Jenkins, and Leni Stern.

Advanced ticket purchase is recommended; limited tickets will be available at the door.

Friday Nights are made possible in part by, Weill-Cornell Medicine – Southampton and The Corcoran Group.
