Welcome Day | Free Admission
Art workshops, tours, & activities from 1 to 4PM
September 18, 2022, 11 am - 5 pm
Join us at the Museum as we celebrate art, artists, and our community at our Welcome Day, where adults, children, and families can experience everything the Parrish offers. Guests enjoy free admission all day and free activities between 1 and 4 PM including:
· Family art workshops
· Pop Up Materials Workshop with the Imagination Play Project
· Guided tours of our engaging exhibitions
· Art Scavenger Hunt of In the Light of the Garden
Museum educators, Parrish docents, teaching artists from the community, and other staff will be onsite to support these activities and to answer any questions you may have.
REGISTRATION IS NOT REQUIRED
FAMILY ART WORKSHOPS
In these free Welcome Day workshops, explore a variety of media and techniques inspired by In the Light of the Garden and Another Justice: US is Them. Create a landscape with watercolor pencils, learn how to make an origami boat, or design a nature rubbing. Workshops will be held in the studio and galleries. Materials will be provided.

POP UP MATERIALS WORKSHOP
The Pop Up Materials Workshop with the Imagination Play Project creates opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to engage, design, and connect with open-ended materials and play. In this workshop, build with magformers and natural materials.
Linda White is the founder and creator of Imagination Play Project. As a play curator, her focus began with young children and has grown to working with people of all ages and abilities. Drawing inspiration from the schools in Reggio Emilia, Italy and the rich aesthetic landscape of NYC, she creates experiences using a variety of objects that encourage exploration, engage the senses, and inspire creativity. ART SCAVENGER HUNT
Ask for a Scavenger Hunt at the front desk and see if you can identify all the paintings from In the Light of the Garden.
While masks and proof of vaccination are no longer required to visit the Museum galleries, we encourage wearing masks throughout your visit. The health and safety of our community is a priority. Please stay home if you have a fever or COVID-19 symptoms. The risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. By visiting the Museum and its grounds, you assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.
