This event is for Contemporary Circle level Members of the Parrish Art Museum. Advanced registration is required and limited space is available.
About the Artist
Susan Vecsey is an abstract painter based in NYC and East Hampton, NY. She earned her Bachelor of Arts from Barnard College, Columbia University, New York, and a Master of Fine Arts from the New York Studio School of Drawing, Painting and Sculpture, studying under Graham Nickson. Vecsey creates abstractions from perception, with pouring techniques from the Color Field tradition. Vecsey is widely held in both public and private collections and is represented by Berry Campbell Gallery in New York.
In 2024, Susan Vecsey was a featured artist in Beyond the Horizon: Interpretations of the Landscape from Women in the Permanent Collection at the Parrish Art Museum (February 18–June 16, 2024). Beyond the Horizon took viewers on a journey through visual styles and thematic experiences of the landscape. The exhibition featured women artists from the permanent collection whose works captured the essence and tone of the environment through their own unique visual language. Exhibited artists included April Gornik, Helen Frankenthaler, Jane Freilicher, and Elaine de Kooning.
The Parrish Contemporary Circle Membership is designed for art-lovers and emerging collectors. Membership includes invitations to tailored art events and socials in NYC and on eastern Long Island.
