DESCRIPTION:Join us for our first outdoor Jazz concert of the season featuring The Seth Weaver Quartet! You may also watch the livestream of the concert on the Parrish’s YouTube channel.\n \nThe spaces for in-person attendance have sold out\, please use the link below watch the livestream online.\nThe event takes place outdoors on the Museum’s Terrace and Event Lawn\, rain or shine. Please bring your own chairs\, no Museum seating is available.\nSeth Weaver has rapidly established a reputation as one of the most exciting new jazz names on the NYC jazz scene. Whether through his brilliant improvised trombone solos\, rich baritone vocals\, original compositions\, or his dedicated teaching\, his passion for music and unique talent shines through. Weaver’s latest project is a big band album titled “Truth\,” released in March 2020\, and was showcased at Birdland in an April 2020 concert. \nWeaver has performed at Dizzy’s\, Carnegie Hall\, Kennedy Center\, and Bass Performance Hall\, to name a few\, and has performed in Amsterdam and Dublin. He has shared the stage with Ben Folds\, Alfredo “Chocolate” Armenteros\, Larry Harlow\, Bucky Pizzarelli\, Michael Dease\, Ulysses Owens Jr.\, Adam Neely\, Luis Bonilla\, and Manhattan Transfer. He was featured as a guest artist with the New London Big Band\, and served as artist in residence at Millersville University. He appeared on TV for “An American Big Band Christmas\,” broadcast nationally. \nWeaver is a sought after composer and arranger and his music has been performed all over the world. His brilliant composition “Frost” debuted at Carnegie Hall in 2018\, as did his composition “The Hudson\,” in 2016. He composed the original score for the off-Broadway play\, “For What It’s Worth.” Weaver’s transcription and analysis of Michael Dease’s album “Coming Home” is available through Warwick Music Publications. \nOriginally from Tennessee\, Weaver was the winner of the Texas State Jazz Trombone Competition and was one of three finalists in the International Trombone Association’s Carl Fontana Jazz Competition two years in a row. He won the American Trombone Workshop’s National Jazz Competition in 2017. In addition to his big band album release\, Weaver has a Big Band EP and a single titled “Isle of Skye” for an Irish fusion project in the works. \nAdvance ticket purchase with pre-event registration is required.\nAll tickets are sold pre-event and online only. No sales at the door. All sales are final\, non-transferable\, and non-refundable.\nThe event takes place outdoors on the Museum’s Terrace and Event Lawn. Please bring your own chairs\, no Museum seating is available. \nYou must wear a mask to access the event. Face coverings must be worn when in aisles or moving through spaces.\nNo outside food or drink is permitted. Individually packaged food and drinks will be available for purchase through the cafe vendor\, Elegant Affairs. \nRestrooms will be open during the event. Hand sanitizer and wipes will be available. The exhibition series is part of the Museum’s new Art in the Meadow initiative that enlivens the grounds with performances\, projections\, and works of art. \nField of Dreams outdoor sculpture exhibition is open and free to the public daily\, from 11 am–5 pm. Visitors are asked to observe social distancing practices and are required to wear masks on Museum property.
