SUMMARY:Livestream Salon Concert: Pianist Wynona Wang
DESCRIPTION:Enjoy the brilliance and artistry of the Salon musician livestreamed from the Parrish in the comfort of your home.\n\nWang’s Music Program:\nDomenico Scarlatti (1685-1757)\nTwo Sonata\, K 206 and K 29 \nChen Yi (b. 1953)\nBa Ban \nSergei Rachmaninoff (1873-1943)\nSonata No. 1 in D minor\, Op. 28 \nChinese pianist Wynona Wang was selected as First Prize winner of the 2018 Concert Artists Guild International Competition\, which is just the latest in a series of impressive first prize performances\, along with the 2017 Wideman International Piano Competition in Louisiana. Among the many performance prizes awarded to her with these victories\, she will make her New York recital debut at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall during the 2019-20 season on the CAG Winners series. \nAn active performer in China\, Europe and the United States\, Wang recently earned her Performer’s Diploma under the tutelage of the eminent pianist Alessio Bax at Southern Methodist University in Dallas. While at SMU. she appeared in multiple concerto performances as well as numerous recitals and chamber music concerts\, including collaborations with cellist Andres Diaz and with the Escher String Quartet. Her upcoming itinerary features recitals in New York and Florida\, and concerto engagements in California and Texas. Her recent North American performances include the Northwest Florida Symphony Orchestra\, and the Meadows Symphony Orchestra of SMU in Dallas\, and such major festivals as PianoTexas\, Morningside Music Bridge in Calgary\, Canada\, the International Keyboard Institute & Festival in New York City\, and the Chautauqua Institution. \nBorn in Beijing\, Wang began playing piano at age 4\, and went on to study at both the Music Elementary and Secondary schools at the prestigious Central Conservatory of Music (CCOM) in Beijing. In fall 2016\, she was awarded a full scholarship for her Performer’s Diploma at Southern Methodist University in Dallas\, and she now lives in New York while pursuing her undergraduate degree at The Juilliard School as a student of Dr. Robert McDonald. \n  \nSalon Series is generously supported by Louis K. and Susan P. DESCRIPTION:Affinities for Abstraction: Women Artists on Eastern Long Island\, 1950-2020\, is a freewheeling look at the work of 42 artists who have called the Hamptons home for a week\, a season\, or a lifetime. Organized by the Museum’s Lewis B. and Dorothy Cullman Chief Curator Alicia G. Longwell\, Ph.D.\, the exhibition tells the sweeping story of artists with ties to the region who have expanded and exploited the language of abstraction.

SUMMARY:Field of Dreams
DESCRIPTION:On August 20\, 2020\, the Parrish opened Field of Dreams\, our inaugural sculpture exhibition created to extend the galleries outdoors and activate the Museum’s meadows with work that engages and responds to the Parrish’s architecture and landscape. The exhibition series is part of the Museum’s new Art in the Meadow initiative that enlivens the grounds with performances\, projections\, and works of art. \nField of Dreams outdoor sculpture exhibition is open and free to the public daily\, from 11 am–5 pm. Visitors are asked to observe social distancing practices and are required to wear masks on Museum property.

DESCRIPTION:Saturdays May 15\, 22\, June 5 and 12\, 12:00pm – 1:30pm \nArt educator Wendy Gottlieb guides students to create pottery and study the history of ceramics in this four-week series.
