With a degree in art history from Cornell University\, she took her knowledge of fine and decorative arts coupled with her art education at Sotheby’s Institute in London\, to create Dale Novick Ltd. \nFollowing years living and working in the arts in Europe\, Dale moved to Rio de Janeiro\, Brazil. Almost immediately after the birth of her business\, Town and Country Magazine published a piece on her work\, and her brand and business were truly ablaze. She has received repeated coverage in high fashion magazines including InStyle\, Vogue\, Cosmopolitan\, and Vanity Fair. Her all-inclusive work reflects a respect for clean\, organic\, architectural\, and colorful pieces\, to be incorporated in the lives of busy executives or Fashionistas. Dale’s pieces have been embraced by the worlds of fashion\, art\, film\, and television and have sold at Ralph Lauren\, Bergdorf Goodman\, Saks Fifth Avenue\, Moda Operandi\, Serenella\, Grayson De Vere\, and others. \nPeter Sabbeth\, Partner\, Oza Sabbeth Architects\, Bridgehampton \nPeter was a fine art painter in the mid 90’s when he first started designing and building loft spaces in Brooklyn’s Dumbo neighborhood. In 2008\, Peter moved east and founded Modern Green Home\, where he helped transform the “traditional” Hamptons building industry through dozens of modern\, sustainable projects. Chiffert\, Chiffert Architectural Engineering and Construction Services\, Southampton \nMarc A Chiffert\, was born in France\, grew up in Brazil\, went to school in Canada and moved to the US in 1983.  Marc grew up in an art family\, where his mother was an international art dealer specializing in French and Israeli contemporary art\, and later Brazilian art too.   Marc’s mother had a gallery in Fairfield County\, Gallerie Vendome for 20 years.  By Profession\, Marc is an NYS licensed engineer with a professional architectural engineering practice in Southampton.  Marc is also the Co-Chairperson of the Southampton Village Planning Commission and a member of the Town of Southampton Licensing Review Board.  Marc sits on various boards\, including the Friends of McGill University. \nSylvia Wong\, Owner\, The Roundtree\, Amagansett  \nSylvia Wong is the owner of The Roundtree\, a Small Luxury Hotel property that opened in Amagansett in 2020.  After a decades long career as a corporate attorney\, first at Paul\, Weiss\, Rifkind\, Wharton & Garrison\, a New York City law firm\, and then at IBM’s Armonk and Asia offices\, she joined the Board of Directors of WTI\, Inc.\, a private investment firm\, in 2015 and has been working closely with it to identify\, evaluate and negotiate real estate investments. \nHer love for traveling and the wonderful memories she collected from those travels inspired her to open The Roundtree. Kendrick and Dunham\, longtime friends and both former studio assistants to Dorothea Rockburne\, will explore their respective careers as artists and approach to artmaking. \nCarroll Dunham (b. 1949\, New Haven\, CT) is a contemporary American painter\, whose career has encompassed elements of Abstract Expressionism\, Surrealism and Neo-expressionism\, moving from abstraction to figuration. Dunham has held global solo exhibitions at Museum Ludwig\, Cologne\, Millesgården\, Stockholm; and Drammens Museum\, Drammen\, Norway\, followed by a mid-career retrospective was held at the New Museum of Contemporary Art\, New York. Dunham’s work is held in numerous esteemed collections including the Art Institute of Chicago\, Brooklyn Museum\, Museum of Modern Art\, Museum of Contemporary Art\, Los Angeles\, Philadelphia Museum of Art\, Walker Art Center\, and Whitney Museum of American Art\, among others. \n\n\nMel Kendrick: Seeing Things in Things was organized by the Addison Gallery of American Art\, Phillips Academy\, Andover\, Massachusetts and curated by Allison Kemmerer\, The Mary Stripp and R. Alpern\, Leslie Wayne\, and Lucy Winton as they discuss their works on view in An Expanded Portrait: Works from the Permanent Collection with Curatorial Assistant and Publications Coordinator Kaitlin Halloran\, and Curatorial Fellow Brianna L. Hernández.  The exhibition features 16 artists exploring self-representation and the ways in which women experience the world. \n  \n\n\nLinda K. Alpern (American\, born 1951)\, represented in the exhibition with her 1999 photograph Mabel D’Amico\, has a career that spans 30 years. In 2003\, she was artist in residence at the American Academy in Rome\, where her photographs were likened to the Italian New Wave and Magnum School of photojournalism. In 2005\, she won best in show in a Guild Hall competition\, resulting in a solo exhibition of 65 photographs. Alpern has participated in many group shows\, and her work is in the permanent collections of the Philadelphia Museum of Art\, Guild Hall Museum\, and the Parrish Art Museum. For the past ten years she has been capturing images of children playing while their parents do laundry in the Sag Harbor laundromat. \n  \nLeslie Wayne (German\, born 1953)\, known for her highly dimensional paintings often described as sculptural\, explores the intersection of abstraction and figuration\, forms in nature\, and the perception and relationship between object and image. Her process includes scraping\, folding\, collaging\, and cutting in an effort to build up the desired surface which is further accentuated by meticulous layering of varied textures of paint—techniques evident in her colored pencil and collage work\, Twist ‘n’ Shout (2007–08). Wayne lives and works in New York and has been represented by Jack Shainman Gallery since 1992. Her work is featured in significant public collections\, including the Miami Museum of Contemporary Art\, Museum of Fine Arts Houston\, Cooper Hewitt Design Museum\, Portland Museum of Art\, and Birmingham Museum of Art. \n  \nLucy Winton (American\, born 1956)\, represented in the exhibition with the ’70\, (2010\, graphite\, ink\, and gouache on paper) became immersed in drawing while studying fashion design at the Fashion Institute of Technology. Much of her work is inspired by children’s book illustrations and romantic tradition\, with nocturnal scenes influenced by her years of working midnight shifts. Winton has been part of many solo and group exhibitions at the Parrish Art Museum\, Center for Contemporary Printmaking\, Flag Art Foundation\, and Southampton Arts Center\, and has been represented by Tripoli Gallery since 2016. She received an MFA from the New York Academy of Art and a BA from the University of California at Santa Cruz. \n  \n\nAdvance ticket purchase with pre-event registration is recommended.
