The studio of Jeff Zimmerman in Red Hook\, Brooklyn and Sebastian Errazuriz in Industry City\, Brooklyn. (Read on for more information about both artists.) Space is limited for this exclusive opportunity. \nJeff Zimmerman’s Glass Blowing Studio: Brooklyn Glass \nA celebrated master glass artist\, Jeff Zimmerman (b. 1968) belongs to a group of daring contemporary artists who employ the ancient material as a means of expression rather than an end in itself. His sculptures and functional pieces exploit techniques of advanced glassmaking and the defining properties of glass itself — the way it hovers between liquid and solid states\, its reflectivity and tactile qualities\, its habit of moving constantly while still molten — to evoke a dimension of experience where things are happening that we can feel but not necessarily define. \nSebastian Errazuriz \nArtist\, designer and activist Sebastian Errazuriz received international acclaim for his original and provocative works on a variety of disciplines. Tackling everything from experimental kinetic cabinets\, functional sculptures and tech art projects to political artworks and giant public art projects\, his practice tends to blur the boundaries between contemporary art\, design\, craft and technology. His work is always surprising and compelling\, inviting the viewer to look again at realities that were often hidden in plain sight.

DESCRIPTION:March 24–July 28\, 2019 \n\nA focused exhibition of works by the German-born photographer illuminating her exploration of the interrelationship of romanticism\, memory\, and place through dynamic compositions rich with implied narratives. The exhibition features 12 large-scale archival prints in a gallery installation specifically designed to present a compositionally unified environment. Presenting works drawn from ongoing series Ocean | Desert and Mountain Interval\, the exhibition draws together disparate landscapes through the continuity of the horizon line. Dramatic images of the Atlantic Ocean\, vast sand dunes in New Mexico and Colorado\, and the majestic mountain ranges in Alaska\, Switzerland\, Italy\, and Nepal come together to explore “the interval\, the space in between … during which apparently nothing happens\, but without which no change could happen\,” Aller explains. “The Space Between Memory and Expectation is another way to describe this state of stillness and transition.”A part of Parrish Perspectives—a series of concentrated exhibitions that offers the Museum opportunities to respond spontaneously and directly to unique ways of thinking about art\, artists\, and the creative process. In the immersive installation\, seven photographs of dramatic ranges and peaks from Mountain Interval are aligned with five prints from Ocean | Desert—broad expanses of sea and sand. SUMMARY:FILM: Loving Vincent
DESCRIPTION:  \n2017\, PG-13\, 94 minutes\, Directors Dorota Kobiela\, and Hugh Welchman \n  \nThe life and controversial death of Vincent van Gogh told by his paintings and by the characters that inhabit them. The intrigue unfolds through interviews with the characters closest to Vincent and through dramatic reconstructions of the events leading up to his death. \nLoving Vincent is the world’s first fully oil painted feature film. Every one of the 65\,000 frames of the film is an oil-painting\, hand-painted by 125 professional oil-painters who traveled from all across the world to be a part of the production of this film. Loving Vincent was first shot as a live action film with actors\, and then hand-painted over frame-by-frame in oils. SUMMARY:Renate Aller: The Space Between Memory and Expectation
DESCRIPTION:March 24–July 28\, 2019 \n\nA focused exhibition of works by the German-born photographer illuminating her exploration of the interrelationship of romanticism\, memory\, and place through dynamic compositions rich with implied narratives. The exhibition features 12 large-scale archival prints in a gallery installation specifically designed to present a compositionally unified environment. Presenting works drawn from ongoing series Ocean | Desert and Mountain Interval\, the exhibition draws together disparate landscapes through the continuity of the horizon line. Dramatic images of the Atlantic Ocean\, vast sand dunes in New Mexico and Colorado\, and the majestic mountain ranges in Alaska\, Switzerland\, Italy\, and Nepal come together to explore “the interval\, the space in between … during which apparently nothing happens\, but without which no change could happen\,” Aller explains. “The Space Between Memory and Expectation is another way to describe this state of stillness and transition.”A part of Parrish Perspectives—a series of concentrated exhibitions that offers the Museum opportunities to respond spontaneously and directly to unique ways of thinking about art\, artists\, and the creative process. In the immersive installation\, seven photographs of dramatic ranges and peaks from Mountain Interval are aligned with five prints from Ocean | Desert—broad expanses of sea and sand.
