SUMMARY:Bridgehampton Chamber Music Festival
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a beautiful outdoor concert on the Museum’s covered terrace as we continue our partnership with Bridgehampton Chamber Music in a night of glorious music. The concert features a quintet by Italian composer and cellist Luigi Boccherini\, and the only string quartet written by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. \nSpace on the terrace is limited\, please use the link below to register. The event takes place outdoors on the Museum’s Terrace\, rain or shine. \nREGISTER \nBoccherini’s Quintet for Flute and Strings in Bb major\, G. 442\, for flute\, violin\, viola\, and two celli\, is one of the many chamber works by the composer that exploit the technical resources of his own instrument\, the cello\, as well as other instruments. \nSouvenir de Florence in D minor\, Op. 70—for two violins\, two violas\, and 2 celli—is composed in the traditional four-movement form. The title arose from the composer’s visit to Florence\, Italy\, where he sketched one of the work’s principal themes. It was composed in the summer of 1890 and dedicated to the St. Petersburg Chamber Music Society after he was named an Honorary Member. Souvenir de Florence was premiered in 1892 after several revisions. \nBoccherini Quintet for Flute and Strings in Bb major\, G. 442 \nTchaikovsky Souvenir de Florence in D minor\, Op. 70 \nArtists:\nMarya Martin\, flute \nTessa Lark\, violin \nBenjamin Beilman\, violin \nHaesue Lee\, viola \nEttore Causa\, viola \nMihai Marica\, cello \nPeter Stumpf\, cello \n  \nAdvance ticket purchase with pre-event registration is required.\nAll tickets are sold pre-event and online only.
