The Imagination Play Project creates opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to engage\, design\, and connect with open-ended materials and play. \nLinda White is the founder and creator of Imagination Play Project. As a play curator\, her focus began with young children and has grown to working with people of all ages and abilities. Registration is closed.*\nFor the 2024 Parrish Road Show\, the Parrish Art Museum has invited Andrea Cote to create a site-specific exhibition at Bridge Gardens in Bridgehampton. Now in its thirteenth year\, Parrish Road Show is the Museum’s off-site project designed to encourage engagement and interaction between artists and the communities beyond the Museum’s walls. To Belong to the World will be an outdoor installation composed of uniquely printed fabric and bamboo structures that complement and highlight the Garden’s landscape. The work continues Cote’s exploration of her connection with the environment through daily exposed cyanotypes reflecting the sun\, cosmos\, and body. \nAn opening reception will be held on Saturday\, September 14\, 2024 at 2 PM at Bridge Gardens. Andrea Cote\, along with Parrish Associate Curator and Publications Manager Kaitlin Halloran will introduce the exhibition with brief remarks. Light refreshments will be served. \nPlease note: Parking at Bridge Gardens is limited. DESCRIPTION:*This event has been postponed until further notice. \n$10 Members | $20 Adults and Resident Benefit Pass Holders | $18 Seniors | Free for Students and Children \nJoin artist Andrea Cote\, as she discusses her 2024 Parrish Road Show exhibition installed at Bridge Gardens in Bridgehampton\, NY\, and shares her artistic process. Composed of uniquely printed fabrics\, some of which are suspended as banners from trees and others installed with bamboo structures reaching approximately fifteen feet in height\, Cote’s installation will complement and highlight various features of the landscape. \nNow in its thirteenth year\, Parrish Road Show is the Museum’s annual off-site project designed to encourage engagement and interaction between artists and the communities beyond the Museum’s walls. Capitalizing on the popularity of the Adam West–starring American television series\, director Rene Cardona—later known for his luchador (masked wrestler) adventure movies—began work on a film that would showcase the talents of actress Maura Monti. By blending elements of “Batmania” with Mexico’s popular lucha libre style\, Cardona created a unique take on the superhero genre. In this 1968 Mexican version\, shot in the stunning locale of Acapulco\, the gorgeous Maura Monti dons the cape\, cowl\, boots\, and bikini to take on the lead role of Batwoman. With her stunning beauty and crime-fighting finesse\, she is called upon to investigate a mad scientist who is capturing wrestlers and using their spinal fluid to create a Gill Man.
