In collaboration with Hamptons JazzFest\, Jazz at Lincoln Center presents four thrilling concerts this summer at the Parrish’s expansive campus\, bringing world-class jazz performances and artists to the East End. The concerts will be held on the Mildred C. Brinn Terrace and Event Lawn. Guests are strongly encouraged to bring outdoor chairs and blankets as no Museum seating is provided. Outdoor coolers and outside food are prohibited; food and beverages are available to purchase at the Parrish Café. \nSummer Jazz on the Terrace concludes with a performance by the Sarah Hanahan Quartet. Hanahan is an up-and-coming jazz saxophonist in New York City and a graduate of the Jackie McLean Institute of Jazz at the Hartt School of Music where she received her Bachelor’s degree in 2019\, as well as The Juilliard School where she received her Master’s degree in 2022. She has studied with well-known performers Abraham Burton\, Nat Reeves\, Steve Davis\, Billy Drummond\, and Marc Cary. Hanahan tours both nationwide and internationally with her own band and plays regularly in renowned venues around NYC such as Dizzy’s\, Smoke Jazz Club\, Smalls\, and more. A generational talent on the rise\, Hanahan was recently featured in the first-ever class of NPR Jazz Night in America’s Youngbloods alongside Samara Joy\, Immanuel Wilkins\, Isaiah J. Thompson\, and Sean Mason. The series features “five up-and-coming jazz geniuses who are revolutionizing their genre” – all of whom are under the age of 30. Her debut album\, Sarah Hanahan: Among Giants\, featuring Marc Cary\, Nat Reeves\, and Jeff Watts will be released under Jazz at Lincoln Center’s label\, Blue Engine\, on June 21st\, 2024. \nNote: In the event of severely inclement weather\, ticket holders will be notified as soon as possible. DESCRIPTION:Children of all ages and abilities are invited to participate in creative play on the Mildred C. Brinn Terrace\, where they can explore light\, shape\, shadows\, and color with Linda White\, Play Curator. From 10:30 AM to 1 PM\, join the Imagination Play Project in a pop-up workshop and build using recycled materials. The Imagination Play Project creates opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to engage\, design\, and connect with open-ended materials and play. \nLinda White is the founder and creator of Imagination Play Project. As a play curator\, her focus began with young children and has grown to working with people of all ages and abilities. Registration is closed.*\nFor the 2024 Parrish Road Show\, the Parrish Art Museum has invited Andrea Cote to create a site-specific exhibition at Bridge Gardens in Bridgehampton. Now in its thirteenth year\, Parrish Road Show is the Museum’s off-site project designed to encourage engagement and interaction between artists and the communities beyond the Museum’s walls. To Belong to the World will be an outdoor installation composed of uniquely printed fabric and bamboo structures that complement and highlight the Garden’s landscape. The work continues Cote’s exploration of her connection with the environment through daily exposed cyanotypes reflecting the sun\, cosmos\, and body. \nAn opening reception will be held on Saturday\, September 14\, 2024 at 2 PM at Bridge Gardens. Andrea Cote\, along with Parrish Associate Curator and Publications Manager Kaitlin Halloran will introduce the exhibition with brief remarks. Light refreshments will be served. \nPlease note: Parking at Bridge Gardens is limited. Composed of uniquely printed fabrics\, some of which are suspended as banners from trees and others installed with bamboo structures reaching approximately fifteen feet in height\, Cote’s installation will complement and highlight various features of the landscape. \nNow in its thirteenth year\, Parrish Road Show is the Museum’s annual off-site project designed to encourage engagement and interaction between artists and the communities beyond the Museum’s walls.
