Jacopo holds graduate degrees in Piano Performance under the guidance of Virginio Pavarana\, a Master’s in Sound Design with Mauro Graziani at the Conservatory of Verona\, a Diploma at the International Piano Academy of Imola Incontri col Maestro with Leonid Margarius\, and a graduate degree in Piano Performance at the University of Southern California. \nMaddalena Giacopuzzi has performed as a soloist with the Orchestra of the Arena in Verona\, Orchestra Monteverdi of Bozen\, the Haydn Orchestra of Trento and Bozen\, the Orchestra Verdi of Milan\, the Orchestra of Sanremo\, Orquestra Sinfonica del Estado de Mexico under the baton of Berislav Sipus\, Emir Saul\, Stephen Lloyd\, Carlo Tenan\, Giancarlo de Lorenzo and Gabriela Diaz Alatriste. Co-presented with AIA Peconic\, this program provides continuing education credits for licensed architects. Visitors are welcome to enjoy lunch from the Parrish Café during the program held in the Lichtenstein Theater. \nAbout the Authors\nRobert Cody\, AIA\, NCARB\, LEED AP\, is Partner at Amoia Cody Architecture\, Professor of Practice\, and Former Associate Dean and Chair at the New York Institute of Technology School of Architecture and Design. For over 30 years\, he has worked on projects from wood-frame houses to precast concrete office buildings\, interior renovations to freestanding towers\, design competitions to physical construction\, and ecological design\, to The Museum of Modern Art. Cody has practiced and taught architectural design theory\, building construction\, and architecture studios with particular concentration in the comprehensive design studio. He has coordinated and taught travel studios in Italy and Scandinavia. He has also been the New York Tech NCARB AXP Coordinator and AIAS Faculty Advisor since 2012. \nAngela Amoia is Partner at Amoia Cody Architecture and Adjunct Associate Professor of Architecture at the New York Institute of Technology School of Architecture and Design. Amoia has practiced and taught history\, theory\, architecture studios\, including the comprehensive design studio\, and study abroad in Italy since graduating from Columbia University with a Master’s degree in Advanced Architectural Design. Her role as project manager ranged in scale from skyscrapers to large-scale academic facilities and residential houses and loft buildings. \nAbout the Book\nIn the contemporary practice of architecture\, digital design and fabrication are emergent technologies in transforming how architects present a design and form a material strategy that is responsible\, equitable\, sustainable\, resilient\, and forward-looking. Alvar Aalto and the Future of Architecture exposes dialogue between history\, theory\, design\, construction\, technology\, and sensory experience by means of digital simulations that enhance the assessment and values of our material choices. SUMMARY:The Art of Printmaking: Monoprints
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER \n*Must register by June 7th\n\n$270 | All materials included  \nJune 14\, 21\, & 28 (Three Week Series) \nInspired by the several prints featured throughout The Art of Food: From the Collections of Jordan D. Schnitzer and His Family Foundation\, explore variations of monoprint printmaking and the fundamentals of line\, shape\, and the power of contrast combining hard and soft edges.  \nWorkshop participants will be introduced to reductive monotype and drypoint\, a linear technique of drawing directly on a surface with an etching needle. We will layer forms from cut mylar stencils and work with translucency. This allows for freedom with variations of color and compositional elements. Students can create a small varied edition of prints on the Parrish printing press. This workshop series is designed for adults and welcomes participants of all skill levels. \nAbout the Artist\nAndrea Cote is an interdisciplinary artist and printmaker. She has been creating professionally and teaching for over 25 years. Based in Hampton Bays\, she has exhibited her work in North and South America at venues including Guild Hall Islip Art Museum\, Delaware Art Museum\, Abrons Arts Center\, The Print Center\, The Moore Gallery\, and PanAmerican Art Projects. She is the recipient of several grants including NYSCA Creative Individuals Grants in 2014 and 2018\, two SOS grants from the New York Foundation for the Arts and a fellowship at the Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop. She received a NYSCA Artist Support Grant with the Patchogue Arts Council for a community art project and a residency at The Church in Sag Harbor in 2023. She will be featured in the Parrish Art Museum Road Show in 2024. \nA gift of a 19th Century cast-iron printing press in 2016 sparked a focus on printmaking in her studio practice and marked the beginning of Starwheel Press & Projects\, and a place for collaborations\, special projects\, and workshops in the studio. \nAs a teaching artist\, she aims to inspire students to develop their own voice through experimentation while providing a foundation of technique and artistic vocabulary. She aims to make printmaking accessible to everyone\, at all levels\, on the East End. \nThe Museum reserves the right to cancel a class at any time due to insufficient enrollment. Schnitzer and His Family Foundation\, explore variations of monoprint printmaking and the fundamentals of line\, shape\, and the power of contrast combining hard and soft edges.  \nWorkshop participants will be introduced to reductive monotype and drypoint\, a linear technique of drawing directly on a surface with an etching needle. We will layer forms from cut mylar stencils and work with translucency. This allows for freedom with variations of color and compositional elements. Students can create a small varied edition of prints on the Parrish printing press. This workshop series is designed for adults and welcomes participants of all skill levels. \nAbout the Artist\nAndrea Cote is an interdisciplinary artist and printmaker. She has been creating professionally and teaching for over 25 years. Based in Hampton Bays\, she has exhibited her work in North and South America at venues including Guild Hall Islip Art Museum\, Delaware Art Museum\, Abrons Arts Center\, The Print Center\, The Moore Gallery\, and PanAmerican Art Projects. She is the recipient of several grants including NYSCA Creative Individuals Grants in 2014 and 2018\, two SOS grants from the New York Foundation for the Arts and a fellowship at the Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop. She received a NYSCA Artist Support Grant with the Patchogue Arts Council for a community art project and a residency at The Church in Sag Harbor in 2023. She will be featured in the Parrish Art Museum Road Show in 2024. \nA gift of a 19th Century cast-iron printing press in 2016 sparked a focus on printmaking in her studio practice and marked the beginning of Starwheel Press & Projects\, and a place for collaborations\, special projects\, and workshops in the studio. \nAs a teaching artist\, she aims to inspire students to develop their own voice through experimentation while providing a foundation of technique and artistic vocabulary. Currently on view\, is Janelle Lynch: Endless Forms Most Beautiful\, a collaboration between Frampton Co. with London and Hong Kong-based Flowers Gallery. This exhibition of works made by Janelle Lynch in Amagansett\, New York\, during 2022–2023\, will include cyanotypes\, a camera-less 19th century photographic process\, of botanical and wildlife remains and Lynch’s own body through which she affirms the fundamental value of all life in its various manifestations\, including the afterlife. The unique works are evidence of physical existence and\, as abstractions in hues of blue and white\, also suggest the ethereal world. At 12 PM\, join us for an introductory talk between Corinne Erni\, Lewis B. and Dorothy Cullman Chief Curator of Art and Education\, and the artists. Join today →\n  \nCelebrated for his bright\, bold\, and colorful paintings\, Eddie Martinez will present a new body of work made specifically for the Parrish. Taking full advantage of the Museum’s expansive space and high ceilings\, Martinez is creating seven 12-foot tall Bufly paintings. Like much of his work\, these canvases are imbued with a personal iconography. The artist started the Bufly series in 2021 when his son Arthur who was two at the time became fascinated with butterflies\, mispronouncing them as “buflies.” Martinez has been painting them ever since. \nEddie Martinez: Buflies is organized by Corinne Erni\, Lewis B. and Dorothy Cullman Chief Curator\, Art and Education and Deputy Director of Curatorial Affairs\, with additional support from Kaitlin Halloran\, Assistant Curator and Publications Coordinator. \nFollowing on the heels of the publication of her first career-spanning monograph\, Sam Moyer’s solo exhibition at the Parrish Art Museum will showcase the artist’s relationship to material and light as a throughline in her practice\, displaying the range of her processes\, and bodies of work\, across three galleries. Focusing each space on a specific material relationship\, Moyer presents a large-scale stone painting tailor-fit to the architecture of the room\, sculptural photographs whose composition are specific to the landscape of Eastern Long Island\, and a series of smaller\, more representational wall works. Since then\, she has toured with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra on the Big Band Holidays Tour\, performed with Jon Batiste at the Newport Jazz Festival\, was a guest artist at “Wynton at 60\,” participated in Betty Carter’s Jazz Ahead at the Kennedy Center\, performed her original composition “Alazoo” at the 2022 Jazz at Lincoln Center Gala\, played in the Broadway pit for Disney’s Aladdin\, and much more.
