SUMMARY:Private Tour at the Frick Madison
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER \nJoin Members at the Patron level and above for a private tour at the Frick Madison\, the temporary home of The Frick Collection. The tour will include highlights of their permanent collection and an introduction to their special exhibition\, Barkley L. Hendricks: Portraits at the Frick. Barkley L. Hendricks (1945—2017) revolutionized contemporary portraiture with his vivid depictions of Black subjects that emphasize the dignity and individuality of his sitters. Beginning in the late 1960s\, his work drew from the challenged traditions of European art\, and The Frick Collection—with its iconic portraits by Rembrandt\, Bronzino\, Van Dyck\, and others—was one of his favorite museums. \nMore about the Frick Madison: “The Frick has created a sequence of gallery spaces at Frick Madison that reflects the museum’s traditional emphasis on intimate encounters with both art and architecture and allows direct access to objects without the interference of vitrines or stanchions.” – frick.org \nThis special opportunity for Parrish Members to glean new perspectives on old masters takes place when the Frick Madison is closed to the public. Event is being co-organized by Parrish Member and supporter\, Bobbie Braun. You must be a current Patron level member or above to register. \nMembers may bring up to one guest provided space is still available. Space is limited. Please contact Membership to register your guest. \nNot a Member? Join today!

DESCRIPTION:REGISTER \n$15 Members | $25 Adults | $15 Seniors\, Students | $5 Children | $15 Member’s Guest \nSummer Jazz on the Terrace continues with a third\, live outdoor performance by the Sasha Berliner Quartet\, in collaboration with Hamptons Jazz Fest. \nSasha Berliner is a musician\, composer\, producer\, and band leader from San Francisco\, California. A rock drummer turned vibraphonist\, Berliner was first introduced to the instrument through her high school Oakland School for the Arts as part of the jazz program\, soon becoming her life passion. Berliner moved to New York City in 2016 to attend the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music and study under acclaimed vibraphonist Stefon Harris\, whose influence\, in particular with regard to harmony\, is something that she felt was “nearly prophetic” in helping her liberate her unique style on the instrument. \nBerliner got her major start on the NYC scene when she debuted at NYC Winter Jazz Fest in 2018\, followed soon after by Atlanta Jazz Fest and Burlington Jazz Fest in the same year\, all before age 20. Berliner was also the first US recipient of the LetterOne “Rising Stars” Jazz Award in 2019\, where she headlined 10 reputable jazz festivals throughout the U.S. and Canada\, giving Berliner her first official foray into touring as a band leader and facilitating the creation of her debut album. \nAbout Hamptons Jazz Fest\nHamptons Jazz Fest\, produced by The Jam Session\, Inc\, is a series of performances that bring world-class musicians in the fields of Jazz\, Latin\, and World music to a diverse cross-section of populations in the East End of Long Island\, held in iconic venues throughout July\, August\, and September. SUMMARY:Optic Garden | Preview at Exhibition The Barn
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER \nParrish Contemporaries Circle members are invited to join Frampton Co for open-air cocktails and an exclusive preview of Optic Garden\, presented in collaboration with The Rug Company\, at Exhibition The Barn in Bridgehampton. Optic Garden showcases art and design in equal measure with rugs designed by leading creatives for The Rug Company\, including “Undercover\,” a new bespoke rug designed by Elena Frampton\, Principal at Frampton Co\, alongside contemporary paintings by Christine Keefe\, and ceramics by Kalya O’Donoghue. \nInspired to bring an element of the three-dimensional to a typically two-dimensional object\, Elena Frampton designed “Undercover” using a trompe l’oeil effect. The design marries optical illusion with traditional ornamentation\, as a floral-patterned rug appears to peel back from the floor at opposing corners\, offering both a decorative and architectural statement within interior space. Echoing the inspiration behind “Undercover\,” the exhibition recontextualizes form\, function\, and ornamentation in the display. Rugs cascade down the wall and onto the floor\, putting the artistry and creative vision of the designs in full view. The selection of rugs\, curated by Elena Frampton\, includes creative perspectives across a range of industries with additional designs by Diane von Furstenberg\, Rodarte\, Mary Katrantzou\, Paul Smith\, Sarabande\, and The Rug Company. \nAbout Exhibition\n\nA stone’s throw from the ocean\, Exhibition The Barn is situated in the serene hamlet of Bridgehampton in Long Island\, New York. DESCRIPTION:REGISTER \n6:30 pm | Program with the artist\nJoin us for the preview of Mel Kendrick: Seeing Things in Things. Presenting a wide range of sculpture from the artist’s decades-long career\, Seeing Things in Things explores how Mel Kendrick (American\, b. 1949) exploits the essential properties of his selected medium\, whether wood\, rubber—and more recently concrete—to create sculpture that inherently lays bare the process by which it was made. SUMMARY:Curious Terrain | Exhibition Preview at The Barn
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER\n  \nJoin Members at the Parrish Contemporary Circle and Contributor level for open-air cocktails and an exclusive preview of Curious Terrain at Exhibition The Barn in Bridgehampton. The event is hosted by Elena Frampton\, principal of interior design studio and art advisory Frampton Co\, and curator of Exhibition The Barn. \nChallenging our perception of the canvas as a format for creative expression\, Curious Terrain brings together dynamic\, multi-dimensional ‘paintings’ by several New York City and Long Island-based artists. From leather to resin and foam core\, unconventional materials meet equally unconventional methodologies\, all within the traditional format of a canvas and stretcher bars. These works push and pull the viewer’s gaze in unexpected directions – flatworks with texture and depth\, resisting all categorization. \nThis event is organized by the Parrish Contemporaries Circle Committee. \nCurrent Members: \n·         Christine Berry\, Berry Campbell\, Committee Chair \n·         Kurt Carstensen\, AMG Parade \n·         Elena Frampton\, Frampton Co. \n·         Kelcey Edwards\, Iron Gate East \n·         Nadine Homann\, NH Design Studios \n·         Chelsea Hrynick Browne\, Artist \n·         John S. SUMMARY:Members Reception | Set It Off
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER \nSet It Off brings together over 50 works—many new or never-before-seen—by an international roster of female artists who engage the monumental\, the site-specific\, or the immersive in their practice. Inspired by the architecture and setting of the Museum\, the curators embraced the opportunity to consider the ways artists use and manipulate space to explore identity and place today. \nDyson and Rasheed employ minimalism and the grid to explore how intellectual\, environmental\, and architectural infrastructures are perceived and negotiated. James and Babirye create figurative work that examines personal and collective histories in relation to identity. Olivier and Yanko make monumentally scaled works that manipulate everyday objects and materials to activate history and memory. \n  \nNot a member but want to attend?
