DESCRIPTION:Join us for Jazz on the Terrace: Michael Sarian’s New Aurora Quartet. You may also watch the livestream of the concert on the Parrish’s YouTube channel. \nSpace on the terrace is limited\, please use the links below to register.\nThe event takes place outdoors on the Museum’s Terrace and Event Lawn\, rain or shine. Please bring your own chairs\, no Museum seating is available.\n \nTrumpeter and composer Michael Sarian has been praised for his “unique compositional and instrumental voice… reminiscent of [his] lyrical contemporaries such as Ralph Alessi\, Ambrose Akinmusire\, or Avishai Cohen…certainly deserving of a large audience and much recognition.” (Friedrich Kunzmann\, All About Jazz) \nBorn in Toronto and raised in Buenos Aires\, Michael relocated to New York City in 2012 to pursue a master’s degree in Jazz Studies at New York University\, where he studied with great musicians such as Laurie Frink\, Alan Ferber\, Brad Shepik\, Ralph Alessi\, and Mike Rodriguez. Michael has performed at the Montreux Jazz Festival\, BRIC JazzFest\, Getxo Blues Festival\, Blue Note Jazz Club\, Jazz at Lincoln Center\, The Beacon Theater\, Central Park SummerStage\, Teatro Colón\, has appeared on WNYC’s Soundcheck with John Schaefer\, NPR’s World Cafe\, and many more. \nAdvance ticket purchase with pre-event registration is required.\nAll tickets are sold pre-event and online only. No sales at the door. All sales are final\, non-transferable\, and non-refundable.\nThe event takes place outdoors on the Museum’s Terrace and Event Lawn\, rain or shine. Please bring your own chairs\, no Museum seating is available. \nYou must wear a mask to access the event. Face coverings must be worn when in aisles or moving through spaces.\nNo outside food or drink is permitted. Individually packaged food and drinks will be available for purchase through the cafe vendor\, Elegant Affairs. \nRestrooms will be open during the event. Hand sanitizer and wipes will be available.
