Please bring your own chairs\, no Museum seating is available.\n \nTrumpeter and composer Michael Sarian has been praised for his “unique compositional and instrumental voice… reminiscent of [his] lyrical contemporaries such as Ralph Alessi\, Ambrose Akinmusire\, or Avishai Cohen…certainly deserving of a large audience and much recognition.” (Friedrich Kunzmann\, All About Jazz) \nBorn in Toronto and raised in Buenos Aires\, Michael relocated to New York City in 2012 to pursue a master’s degree in Jazz Studies at New York University\, where he studied with great musicians such as Laurie Frink\, Alan Ferber\, Brad Shepik\, Ralph Alessi\, and Mike Rodriguez. Michael has performed at the Montreux Jazz Festival\, BRIC JazzFest\, Getxo Blues Festival\, Blue Note Jazz Club\, Jazz at Lincoln Center\, The Beacon Theater\, Central Park SummerStage\, Teatro Colón\, has appeared on WNYC’s Soundcheck with John Schaefer\, NPR’s World Cafe\, and many more. \nAdvance ticket purchase with pre-event registration is required.\nAll tickets are sold pre-event and online only. No sales at the door. All sales are final\, non-transferable\, and non-refundable.\nThe event takes place outdoors on the Museum’s Terrace and Event Lawn\, rain or shine. SUMMARY:Bridgehampton Chamber Music Festival
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a beautiful outdoor concert on the Museum’s covered terrace as we continue our partnership with Bridgehampton Chamber Music in a night of glorious music. The concert features a quintet by Italian composer and cellist Luigi Boccherini\, and the only string quartet written by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. \nSpace on the terrace is limited\, please use the link below to register. The event takes place outdoors on the Museum’s Terrace\, rain or shine. \nREGISTER \nBoccherini’s Quintet for Flute and Strings in Bb major\, G. 442\, for flute\, violin\, viola\, and two celli\, is one of the many chamber works by the composer that exploit the technical resources of his own instrument\, the cello\, as well as other instruments. \nSouvenir de Florence in D minor\, Op. 70—for two violins\, two violas\, and 2 celli—is composed in the traditional four-movement form. The title arose from the composer’s visit to Florence\, Italy\, where he sketched one of the work’s principal themes. It was composed in the summer of 1890 and dedicated to the St. Petersburg Chamber Music Society after he was named an Honorary Member. DESCRIPTION:REGISTER \nJoin Parrish Contemporaries Circle Members for an exclusive walkthrough of the new installation of art and design at Exhibition The Barn in Bridgehampton\, featuring artist-led discussions of the work on view. After the tour\, socialize in the indoor-outdoor space over a glass of wine. Hosted by Frampton Co\, an interior design studio and art advisory that likes to be surprised. \nBody Language is a new installation at Frampton Co’s experimental art and design gallery in Bridgehampton. Curated by Elena Frampton\, Body Language introduces work by three female artists: Aliana Grace Bailey\, Molly Findlay\, and DZ Maciel. The colorful\, tactile works represent and encourage bombastic play\, audacious movement\, and the softness of connection anew. \nThis event is for Parrish Contemporaries Circle Members and emerging collectors and art-lovers interested in learning more about PCC Membership. \nLimited space; reservations required. \nThis outdoor event requires all attendees to show proof of their vaccination status or recent negative COVID test (within 72 hours).
