Borisevich and Loukachkina are winners of numerous international music competitions and have collectively performed on world renown stages such as The Kennedy Center (Washington\, DC)\, Mozarteum University Salzburg (Salzburg\, Austria)\, Grand Hall of Moscow Conservatory (Moscow\, Russia)\, Shriver Hall (Baltimore\, Maryland)\, California Institute of Technology (Pasadena\, CA)\, JCC Greater Washington (Rockville\, MD) and Manuel de Falla Auditorium (Granada\, Spain)\, among others. \nMost recently Borisevich and Loukachkina made their debut at the Venetian Arts Society in Florida\, the Chamber Music Society of Maryland\, and gave performances in Metz\, France and Luxembourg. The Borisevich Duo was named a winner of the Beverly Hills National Auditions\, in addition to making their debut at the Dame Myra Hess Concert Series in Chicago (IL)\, the Alden Theatre in McLean (VA)\, the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts (NY)\, the Gualala Chamber Music Society in Gualala (CA)\, the Tuesday Concert Series in Washington\, DC and the Evensong Concert Series in Silver Spring (MD). In addition to an active performing career\, Borisevich is a dedicated educator and professor of Chamber music at the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore\, Maryland. Loukachkina holds a Doctorate degree in piano performance from the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University. \nSalon Series is generously supported by Louis K. and Susan P. DESCRIPTION:TICKETS \n$35 Members | $45 Adults | $40 Seniors | $20 Students | $10 Children \nPegasus: the Orchestra returns to the Parrish for an intimate program focused on Rachmaninoff’s and Schubert’s Vocal and Chamber Masterpieces. 2007 Tchaikovsky International Competition Gold Medalist\, Sergey Antonov opens the concert with Rachmaninoff’s “Vocalise” arranged for cello and piano\, followed by rising star\, soprano Elisa Sunshine performing two art songs of Rachmaninoff. The first half closes with Rachmaninoff’s powerful Trio Elegiaque No.1. \nThe second half opens with soprano Elisa Sunshine performing five selections from Schubert’s lieder arranged by Karén Hakobyan for Piano and String Quartet finishing the set with Schubert’s famous lieder “Die Forelle” (“The Trout”). Schubert used “The Trout” lieder as the basis of set of variations of the 4th movement of his Piano Quintet\, which hence earned its nickname “The Trout”. His unique and compelling voice on the instrument – the result of a patient and painstaking confrontation with the fundamentals of the art – has earned Allen years of critical attention signaling his ascension to the upper ranks of the contemporary jazz world. Originally from Detroit\, Allen’s apprenticeship\, anchored by his lengthy tenure with Betty Carter\, occurred largely in New York\, where he worked with legends Lester Bowie\, George Cables\, Ron Carter\, Louis Hayes\, Frank Foster Big Band\, Winard Harper\, Dave Douglas\, Cindy Blackman\, Butch Morris\, David Murray\, Wallace Roney\, Rufus Reid\, and Geri Allen. A rock drummer turned vibraphonist\, Berliner was first introduced to the instrument through her high school Oakland School for the Arts as part of the jazz program\, soon becoming her life passion. Berliner moved to New York City in 2016 to attend the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music and study under acclaimed vibraphonist Stefon Harris\, whose influence\, in particular with regard to harmony\, is something that she felt was “nearly prophetic” in helping her liberate her unique style on the instrument. \nBerliner got her major start on the NYC scene when she debuted at NYC Winter Jazz Fest in 2018\, followed soon after by Atlanta Jazz Fest and Burlington Jazz Fest in the same year\, all before age 20. Berliner was also the first US recipient of the LetterOne “Rising Stars” Jazz Award in 2019\, where she headlined 10 reputable jazz festivals throughout the U.S. and Canada\, giving Berliner her first official foray into touring as a band leader and facilitating the creation of her debut album. \nAbout Hamptons Jazz Fest\nHamptons Jazz Fest\, produced by The Jam Session\, Inc\, is a series of performances that bring world-class musicians in the fields of Jazz\, Latin\, and World music to a diverse cross-section of populations in the East End of Long Island\, held in iconic venues throughout July\, August\, and September. DESCRIPTION:REGISTER \n$15 Members | $25 Adults | $15 Seniors\, Students | $5 Children | $15 Member’s Guest \nSummer Jazz on the Terrace continues with a third\, live outdoor performance by the Spike Wilner Trio\, in collaboration with Hamptons Jazz Fest. \nMichael “Spike” Wilner was born in New York City and began playing piano from an early age\, inspired by a television program about the life of Scott Joplin to learn to play Ragtime Music. Wilner would continue through his childhood and adolescent years\, driving him to pursue a career in music. Wilner later attended the New School For Social Research’s Jazz and Contemporary Music department in its inaugural year. Wilner would befriend and perform with many of today’s leading jazz musicians\, including Peter Bernstein\, Jesse Davis\, Larry Goldings\, Brad Mehldau\, Roy Hargrove\, Sam Yahel\, and Joe Strasser among others. DESCRIPTION:$15 Members | $25 Adults | $15 Seniors\, Students | $5 Children | $15 Member’s Guest \nREGISTER\nSummer Jazz on the Terrace continues with a live outdoor performance by the Abraham Burton & Eric McPherson Quartet\, in collaboration with Hamptons Jazz Fest. \nEric McPherson was born and raised in New York\, having been immersed in music from birth – surrounded by music\, rehearsals and performances\, McPherson grew up in an orbit of major jazz artists including Max Roach\, Michael Carvin\, Charles Mofett\, Elvin Jones\, among others. McPherson was playing and performing by age 12 at Barry Harris’ Jazz Cultural Theater and would attend the prestigious LaGuardia High School of the Arts\, later making debuts at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. McPherson would earn a full scholarship to the Jackie McLean Institute at the Hartt School of Music\, University of Hartford\, and go on to perform with McLean for nearly 15 years and major venues and festivals worldwide. \nAbraham Burton is a world-renowned saxophonist and educator\, prominent on the jazz scene\, with two Grammy award-winning albums. Like McPherson\, Burton attended the LaGuardia High School of the Arts as well as the McLean Institute of Music at the University of Hartford.  In 2013\, Burton received the prestigious Ralph Bunche Fellowship at Rutgers University where he obtained his Master’s Degree in Music and has since joined the faculty at both Rutgers and Hartford\, where his classes are in high demand. His decades of experience and commitment to music have made him an exceptional musician and gifted educator. The first theme evokes the wailing of souls in Hell; the second is a chorale representing the joy of souls in Heaven. Following are two Preludes by Aristea Mellos: the rhythmically dynamic Me cansé de vivir me caso (I’m tired of living so I’m getting married) and the lush\, dreamlike Go to sleep my beloved… (Djoko’s Lullaby). The first act ends with Ludwig Van Beethoven’s Sonata No. 23\, “Appassionata\,” considered one of his greatest\, most technically challenging\, and tempestuous piano sonatas. Ronchi graduated with honors and distinction under the guidance of Prof. Isabella Lo Porto\,  with further study with leading international teachers including Franco Scala\, Head of the International Piano Academy of Imola; Vincenzo Balzani\, Milan; Leonid Margarius; and Riccardo Risaliti. Ronchi has won over 50 first prizes at international competitions. DESCRIPTION:REGISTER\nThe Bridgehampton Chamber Music Festival returns to the Parrish Art Museum with a special outdoor concert that transcends cultures and times. The program alternates works for winds and strings\, beginning with Umoja for Wind Quintet by flutist/contemporary composer Valerie Coleman. The Swahili word for “unity\,” Umoja was originally a simple family call-and-response call for unity sung at Kwanzaa. Coleman arranged the tune for her wind quintet Imani Winds\, with the melody carried by French horn. BCMF’s string players take the stage for Trio for Strings in G minor (1894) by Finnish composer Jean Sibelius. Wind players return for the Humoreske for Wind Quintet (1939) by Viennese composer Alexander Zemlinsky. \nIn Jean Françaix’s String Trio in C (1933)\, three of the four brief movements are bright and crisp\, with a strong kinetic connection to the dance music the composer was writing at the time. BCMF wind players come together with oboe in Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Quartet for Oboe\, Violin\, Viola\, and Cello\, K. 370/368b (1781)\, written for the composer’s friend—virtuoso oboist Friedrich Ramm. \nThe concert concludes with contemporary composer Derek Bermel’s Ghanaian dance-inspire\, Wanderings for Wind Quintet (1994) which alludes to the Muslim and Jewish quarters that exist side by without boundaries in Jerusalem’s Old City. Similarly\, in Bermel’s work\, musical threads of continuity appear and suddenly vanish\, remaining elusive. The outdoor concert on the Terrace will showcase Debriano’s modern and Latin jazz compositions\, notably from his recently released Flash of the Spirit project that celebrates global music influenced by Middle Eastern styles\, Brazilian folk\, and Cuban songo rhythms. The concert features trombonist Xito Lovell\, tenor saxophonist Craig Handy\, flutist Andrea Brachfeld\, drummer Tommy Campbell\, and pianist Bill O’Connell. \nBorn in Panama\, Debriano has been composing and performing contrabass and ensemble music professionally since 1982 throughout North America\, Europe\, and the Far East. His prodigious talent as an improviser\, arranger\, and composer has made him a much sought-after collaborator with musicians including Freddie Hubbard\, Sam Rivers\, Archie Shepp\, Pharaoh Sanders\, Oliver Lake\, and others. He has led or played on nearly a dozen recordings\, including four albums with Shepp’s quartet. \nAfter studying for two years at the New England Conservatory under Tiny Martin and Miroslav Vitous\, and earning an M.A. at Wesleyan University\, Debriano performed with Archie Shepp’s quartet for four years. As part of the second annual Hamptons Jazz Fest\, Schwarz-Bart brings exciting lyrical jazz styles to the Parrish.  \nBorn in Guadalupe\, Jacques Schwarz-Bart pursued a path of music and mysticism\, playing alongside luminaries such as Roy Hargrove\, Danilo Perez\, Ari Hoenig\, Meshell n’Degeocello and D’angelo or Chucho Valdes. He outright created two surging new styles: Gwoka Jazz\, and Voodoo Jazz\, reuniting jazz music with its Afro-Caribbean and spiritual origins. With impressionistic writing\, powerful tone\, and wide-ranging language – both lyrical and angular – these jazz styles have fueled a growing presence on the world stage. Leading the Gwoka Jazz Project\, Schwarz-Bart recorded two albums for Universal\, Soné Ka La and Abyss\, which built his career as an internationally acclaimed jazz musician and band leader.  \nIn 2010\, he released Rise Above\, which revives his long-lasting collaboration with singer – and spouse – Stephanie McKay and blends NY urban mood and Caribbean feelings. Schwarz-Bart went on to work on projects and recordings including The Art of Dreaming\, Jazz Racine Haiti\, Creole Spirits\, Voodoo Jazz Trio and Hazzan. DESCRIPTION:TICKETS\nSalon Series\, the Parrish Art Museum’s concert program featuring world-class artists performing in an intimate\, casual setting. \nIn a unique performance at the Museum\, harpist Parker Ramsay will bring new energy to the harp repertoire\, expanding the capability of the instrument in unexpected new ways. Integrating contemporary music and historical performance\, his work defies easy categorization. Equally at home on modern and period harps\, Ramsay is dedicated to invigorating the existing canon while delving into new and underperformed works. \nA native of Nashville\, Tennessee\, Ramsay began harp studies with his mother at a young age before moving to the UK at age 16. He was awarded the undergraduate organ scholarship at King’s College\, Cambridge where he served under the direction of Stephen Cleobury. His tenure with the Choir of King’s College included performing for the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols in 2012\, as well as six international tours and four recordings. Parker has performed at the Concertgebouw in\, the Royal Albert Hall\, the Musée d’Orsay\, the National Center for the Performing Arts\, Sejong Center for the Performing Arts\, Verizon Hall\, and Alice Tully Hall. \nAfter receiving his bachelor’s degree in history at Cambridge\, Ramsay pursued graduate studies in historical keyboards at Oberlin Conservatory. In 2014\, he was awarded First Prize at the Sweelinck International Organ Competition. He then studied modern harp at The Juilliard School\, under the tutelage of Nancy Allen. He is a regular contributor for VAN Magazine\, and his writing has appeared in Cleveland Classical\, The New York Times and The Washington Post. \nParker is co-director of A Golden Wire\, a period-instrument ensemble devoted to French and English music from the seventeenth century.
