Stop by the Museum Shop\, plus\, enjoy delicious food and beverages from local food trucks and the Parrish Café. Stay for an evening of music as we kick off Summer Jazz on the Terrace! \nFree and open to all. In the event of inclement weather or any changes to the program\, ticket holders will be notified as soon as possible. \n  \nAbout the Artist\nFormed in 1996 by slide trumpet innovator Steven Bernstein alongside Briggan Krauss (saxophones)\, Tony Scherr (bass)\, and Kenny Wollesen (drums)\, Sexmob remains Bernstein’s primary creative outlet—centered around the expressive\, rarely heard slide trumpet\, which he first discovered in a Woodstock guitar shop in 1977. Sexmob has developed a signature sound; reimagining music by an unexpected range of artists\, from Leadbelly\, Duke Ellington\, and Count Basie to Prince\, Paul McCartney\, Kurt Cobain\, and The Rolling Stones\, as well as iconic film composers like Nino Rota and John Barry. \nNow celebrating over 20 years as a band\, Sexmob continues to evolve. With their unmistakable blend of virtuosic improvisation\, humor\, and groove\, Sexmob delivers performances that are as unpredictable as they are unforgettable. \nSteven Bernstein is a New York–based trumpeter\, slide trumpeter\, composer\, and bandleader known for his genre-blending approach to jazz and his signature use of the rare slide trumpet. He is the founder of ensembles including Sexmob and the Millennial Territory Orchestra\, and has been a key figure in the downtown music scene for decades. A three-time Grammy Award winner\, he has received a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Jazz Album and two for Best Americana Album\, along with multiple DownBeat Critics Poll honors. Throughout his career\, he has collaborated with renowned artists such as Lou Reed\, Elton John\, Sting\, Aretha Franklin\, and Bill Frisell.
