DESCRIPTION:Business Members are invited to enjoy networking with fellow art-loving business leaders of the East End prior the Museum’s Jazz on the Terrace event.  Enjoy a glass of wine and conversation al fresco while you mix and mingle with culturally engaged entrepreneurs.  Then stick around for an outdoor performance by Morris Goldberg. \nThere is limited capacity for this event\, intended for active Business Members and invited guests.  Not a Member?  Join today! \nREGISTER \nAbout the Jazz on the Terrace Performance\nMorris Goldberg SafroJazz\, 6-7:30 pm \nMorris Goldberg was born in Cape Town\, South Africa. He came to New York to study at the Manhattan School of Music\, where he received both bachelor’s and master’s degrees. \nGoldberg has worked and toured with Miriam Makeba\, Hugh Masekela\, and Harry Belafonte\, among many others. He also recorded for Paul Simon on the Graceland album\, playing soprano sax\, and the pennywhistle solo on “You Can Call Me Al”. He also served as the woodwind specialist on The Rosie O’Donnell Show for the six years it ran. Every morning\, the show would open with a shot of his Yamaha alto saxophone’s bell. In addition\, he played for many artists including Tony Bennett and Phil Collins. \nGoldberg formed his own group called Ojoyo\, which specializes in South African flavored jazz – Safrojazz. The group has recorded three albums of original music\, and played at many Jazz festivals and clubs throughout the United States with Hugh Masekela.  He teaches at the Ross School in East Hampton\, New York\, and performs around the New York City and Long Island area. \n\nThis event is planned and sponsored by the Parrish Business Council\, a volunteer committee of East End professionals serving culturally engaged business leaders and organizations by providing programming and networking opportunities for Parrish Business Members.
