The event includes a light reception. \nSemmelbauer’s private collection includes works by Grimanesa Amoros\, Jorge Palacios\, Brie Ruais\, Luisa Rabbia\, Mary Corman\, Elizabeth Hazan\, Colleen Herman\, Margaret Garrett\, Robert Zandvliet\, Nathan Slate Joseph\, and David Stern\, among others. \nThis event is for Members of the Parrish Art Museum at the Contemporary Circle level and above. Advanced registration is required and limited space is available. \nThe event’s exact address will be provided upon registration. Please note: Shoes are not permitted to be worn inside the home. Booties will be provided. \n  \nAbout Angelica Semmelbauer\nAngelica Semmelbauer is a private art advisor based in NYC\, and founder of art advisory company Ellipsis Art\, where she advises private clients on art acquisition and collection management. After receiving her Master’s Degree in Visual Arts Administration at NYU (Class of 2004)\, she began her 20-year career in the arts first as a gallerist at Mimi Ferzt Gallery in New York (2005–2015)\, which specialized in Russian Non-Conformist and Contemporary Art\, where she organized important curatorial exhibitions\, and placed many of the artists in important private and public art collections around the world\, including the Guggenheim Museum\, MOMA\, the Metropolitan Museum of Art\, and the Jewish Museum. \nIn her current private advisory role\, she is most excited about helping private and corporate clients with advice and expertise on building and expanding their art collections\, and creating direct connections between artists and collectors\, specializing in mid-career and emerging contemporary artists. Through comprehensive art market research and long-standing relationships working with artists and galleries around the world\, she is able to create a unique selection of artwork for clients in accordance with their specific needs\, direction and taste. Learn more→ \nAngelica serves on the board of ArtTable\, a leading organization for professional women in the arts; as Communication Officer for the NYU Alumni Council; and a member of American Federation of Arts\, Art Council of Madison Square Park Conservancy. DESCRIPTION:REGISTER  JOIN TODAY\nJoin Parrish Contemporary Circle Members and artist Almond Zigmund in conversation with Corinne Erni\, The Lewis B. and Dorothy Cullman Chief Curator of Art and Education and Deputy Director of Curatorial Affairs\, for refreshments and light bites in front of Zigmund’s Gridded Commune (2023)\, the Parrish’s inaugural Café mural. \nThis event is for Members of the Parrish Art Museum at the Contemporary Circle level and above. Advanced registration is required and limited space is available. \n  \n \nAbout Almond Zigmund\nRaised in Brooklyn\, NY\, Almond Zigmund received her BFA from Parsons School of Design\, in New York and Paris\, and MFA from the University of Nevada\, Las Vegas\, where she studied with the MacArthur Award-winning critic\, Dave Hickey. \nZigmund makes large scale site responsive installations\, discrete sculptures\, works on paper and paintings. Combining crisp geometry\, vivid color\, and intricate patterns\, her sculptures and installations often suggest walls\, barricades\, enclosures\, and other aspects of the built environment. The architectonic works tend to engage the eye and the body at once\, offering generous amounts of visual stimulation while also inducing visceral reactions to the virtual and actual spaces. \nZigmund’s work has been exhibited in Zurich\, Berlin\, New York\, Columbus\, Los Angeles\, and Las Vegas among others. She has worked with various curators and artists including Parrish Chief Curator Corinne Erni\, former Parrish Chief Curator Alicia Longwell\, Dave Hickey\, Robert Storr\, David Pagel\, Andrea Grover\, and Leo Villareal. She has completed public and private installations and commissions\, including the Parrish Art Museum in Water Mill\, Guild Hall in East Hampton\, the CMA in New York City and for Lisa Perry’s Onna House. She has done numerous public commissions\, most recently for the newly designed US Embassy in Asuncion\, Paraguay. She has completed numerous large scale murals most notably for Brookfield Art at One NY Plaza\, the NYC Dept of Transportation\, the The Whitman Walker Health Center in Washington DC\, Guild Hall in East Hampton\, NY\, and the University of Laverne in Los Angeles. Almond Zigmund was inducted into the Guild Hall Academy of Arts in 2025.
