SUMMARY:Parrish X Avram Gallery Southampton Tour
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER  JOIN TODAY\nJoin Parrish Contemporary Circle Members for an exclusive tour of the Avram Gallery at Stony Brook Southampton with Parrish Collection artist Susan Vecsey. The event includes a light reception. \nThis event is for Contemporary Circle level Members of the Parrish Art Museum. Advanced registration is required and limited space is available. \nAbout The East End: In the Abstract at the Avram Gallery\nFor nearly a century\, Long Island’s East End has been a sanctuary tor abstract artists. From these shores they produced a new alphabet; symbols belonging to a universal language of line\, color\, shape\, and gesture. In 1944\, two of the leading figures within the Abstract Expressionist movement\, Jackson Pollock and Lee Krasner\, traded their Manhattan apartment and loft studios tor a rustic farmhouse and barn studio in the Springs\, a rural hamlet of East Hampton. In the coming years\, throngs of abstract artists would relocate to Eastern Long Island or establish seasonal studios here. \nThe works featured in this exhibition\, highlights from the permanent collection of Pollock-Krasner House and Study Center\, celebrate some of the abstract artists who lived and worked on the East End. SUMMARY:Studio Visit | Jennifer de Klaver
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER \nWe invite our Patron-level members and above to a private\, behind-the-scenes studio visit with artist Jennifer de Klaver in Southampton. This exclusive event offers a rare opportunity to explore de Klaver’s creative space and process up close and gain insight into how her work intertwines with nature and storytelling. Engage in an enriching conversation with the artist and fellow art enthusiasts while enjoying wine and light bites. Don’t miss this unique chance to connect with the artist and fellow patrons in an intimate and inspiring setting. \nRegistration is required. Limited space is available. \nThis event is intended for Members of the Parrish Art Museum at the Patron level and above. Please call if you would like to bring guests. \nAbout the Artist\nJennifer de Klaver is a painter based in Southampton\, New York\, whose abstract works merge gestural forms with a profound sense of calm and inevitability. “I am inspired by color\, sound\, and movement\,” she explains. “My art flows from the heart\, guided by intuition.” This intuitive process infuses her paintings with a deep connection to the soul\, evident in the emotive textures\, marks\, and meditative energy that characterize her work. \nde Klaver’s art delves into the most intimate connections to source. Through a hybrid form of abstract expressionism\, she plays with contrast\, color\, connectivity\, and a language tied to light—all inspired by the beauty of nature. \nGrowing up in Belgium\, de Klaver’s appreciation for the arts began early. As the daughter of a painter\, she traveled extensively throughout Europe\, immersing herself in the works of the great masters in Paris\, Rome\, Florence\, Barcelona\, and the Netherlands. For de Klaver\, painting is a form of meditation\, healing\, and inner storytelling—a process vividly expressed through the dynamic movements and calligraphic forms in her work. \nCurrently\, de Klaver paints out of a former commercial garage in Southampton\, New York. Her work has been featured in exhibitions in New York City and Southampton\, Art Market + Design Hamptons\, Hampton Holiday House + Designer Showhouse\, and Sotheby’s. She is currently exhibiting at Art D’Avendano (division of Jeff Lincoln Art + Design) at 200 North See\, Southampton through September 29th. \n

SUMMARY:Optic Garden | Preview at Exhibition The Barn
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER \nParrish Contemporaries Circle members are invited to join Frampton Co for open-air cocktails and an exclusive preview of Optic Garden\, presented in collaboration with The Rug Company\, at Exhibition The Barn in Bridgehampton. Optic Garden showcases art and design in equal measure with rugs designed by leading creatives for The Rug Company\, including “Undercover\,” a new bespoke rug designed by Elena Frampton\, Principal at Frampton Co\, alongside contemporary paintings by Christine Keefe\, and ceramics by Kalya O’Donoghue. \nInspired to bring an element of the three-dimensional to a typically two-dimensional object\, Elena Frampton designed “Undercover” using a trompe l’oeil effect. The design marries optical illusion with traditional ornamentation\, as a floral-patterned rug appears to peel back from the floor at opposing corners\, offering both a decorative and architectural statement within interior space. Echoing the inspiration behind “Undercover\,” the exhibition recontextualizes form\, function\, and ornamentation in the display. Rugs cascade down the wall and onto the floor\, putting the artistry and creative vision of the designs in full view. The selection of rugs\, curated by Elena Frampton\, includes creative perspectives across a range of industries with additional designs by Diane von Furstenberg\, Rodarte\, Mary Katrantzou\, Paul Smith\, Sarabande\, and The Rug Company. \nAbout Exhibition\n\nA stone’s throw from the ocean\, Exhibition The Barn is situated in the serene hamlet of Bridgehampton in Long Island\, New York. The event is hosted by Elena Frampton\, principal of interior design studio and art advisory Frampton Co\, and curator of Exhibition The Barn. \nChallenging our perception of the canvas as a format for creative expression\, Curious Terrain brings together dynamic\, multi-dimensional ‘paintings’ by several New York City and Long Island-based artists. From leather to resin and foam core\, unconventional materials meet equally unconventional methodologies\, all within the traditional format of a canvas and stretcher bars. These works push and pull the viewer’s gaze in unexpected directions – flatworks with texture and depth\, resisting all categorization. \nThis event is organized by the Parrish Contemporaries Circle Committee. \nCurrent Members: \n·         Christine Berry\, Berry Campbell\, Committee Chair \n·         Kurt Carstensen\, AMG Parade \n·         Elena Frampton\, Frampton Co. \n·         Kelcey Edwards\, Iron Gate East \n·         Nadine Homann\, NH Design Studios \n·         Chelsea Hrynick Browne\, Artist \n·         John S. SUMMARY:Studio Tour | Ma's House
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER \nJoin us for a private tour of Ma’s House & BIPOC Art Studio\, a communal art space based on the Shinnecock Indian Reservation. The event will feature a conversation with Jeremy Dennis\, lead artist\, who will share the history of Ma’s House and its residency program for Black\, Indigenous\, and People of Color. In addition to Dennis’ work\, you will see “Point of Reference”\, the solo exhibition of new works by December resident artist\, Jacoub Reyes. \nJeremy Dennis. Photo by Lori Hawkins. \nJeremy Dennis is a contemporary fine art photographer and a tribal member of the Shinnecock Indian Nation. In his work\, he explores indigenous identity\, culture\, and assimilation\, and in 2018\, he participated in the Parrish Road Show with an exhibition at the Arts Center at Duck Creek\, East Hampton. He was one of 10 recipients of a 2016 Dreamstarter Grant from the national non-profit organization Running Strong for American Indian Youth. He was awarded $10\,000 to pursue his project\, On This Site\, which uses photography and an interactive online map to showcase culturally significant Native American sites on Long Island\, a topic of special meaning for Dennis\, who was raised on the Shinnecock Nation Reservation. \nJacoub Reyes is a multi-disciplinary artist based in Florida. He finds and makes materials and tools as part of an experimental aspect of his process. Reyes salvages and transforms found wood to reflect how marginalized and oppressed communities have been cast aside throughout history. With these\, he carves detailed large-scale allegorical woodcuts based on the acculturation of the Caribbean and the world at large. Reyes’ focus on colonization and indigenous peoples has led him to unpack his personal history and share a message he hopes prevents historic recurrences. \n“Every conversation of oppression\, the intersection of religion and activism\, how politics have corrupted and yet propelled countries forward in development are all conversations that have echoed throughout time as culture has shifted\, albeit sometimes like a pendulum\,” says Reyes\, December resident artist. \nThe event takes place at Ma’s House\, located at 159 Old Point Rd\, Southampton\, NY. \nRELATED\nFilm & Workshop | An Evening With Jeremy Dennis – Parrish Art Museum : Parrish Art Museum \n  \nThis event is intended for Parrish Art Museum Members and their guests.\nTo join or upgrade your Membership\, please contact us at membership@parrishart.org or 631-283-2118.\nAttendance is limited to 12 people.  A 2:00 PM program will be added should the 10:00 AM session fill up.\nIf the event fills\, please email us at membership@parrishart.org to be put on the waitlist\, or to be placed in the 2:00 session.\nAll sales are final\, non-transferable\, and non-refundable.\nThis indoor event requires all attendees to wear medical-grade masks at all times and show proof of vaccination; those 18 and older must provide a valid ID.
