DESCRIPTION:  \n2019\, Documentary\, 57 minutes\nDirector: Daniel Traub \nPart of The Artist’s Lens series\, co-presented with Hamptons Doc Fest. \nUrsula von Rydingsvard is a New York-based contemporary artist whose artworks encompasses sculpture and two-dimensional imagery. Her work\, rooted in the sculpting of raw cedar\, have been exhibited in galleries\, museums and public spaces throughout the world including the Museum of Modern Art in New York\, The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art\, The Art Institute of Chicago\, Venice Biennale\, Yorkshire Sculpture Park and Storm King Art Center. \nThe film follows\, from beginning to final installation\, various recent commissions including those for MIT and Princeton University. It also explores her early struggles\, passion and profound drive to become an artist. DESCRIPTION:$12 | Free for Members\, Students\, and Children \nORDER TICKETS \n  \nJoin us for a special program\, including film and live dance performance\, by the Edge School of the Arts (ESOTA)\, co-presented with the Hamptons United Methodist Church and with support from the Jerome Foundation for Jerome Artist Fellow\, Kerri Edge. \n4 Little Girls: Moving Portraits of the American Civil Rights Movement is an experimental narrative film by Kerri Edge that infuses historical authenticity\, contemporary dance movements (tap\, modern dance\, hip hop\, and ballet) choreographed to spoken word and 60’s protest songs to recant the horrific story of Addie Mae Collins\, Denise McNair\, Carole Robertson\, and Cynthia Wesley\, the four young black girls who were violently murdered by the Ku Klux Klan when a bomb exploded in the basement of the Black 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham\, Alabama\, on September 15\, 1963. \nThe story unfolds through the imaginative interpretations of present-day performing arts students whose teacher challenges them to go back in time and recreate the moments leading up to what Martin Luther King Jr. described as\, “one of the most vicious and tragic crimes ever perpetrated against humanity.” \nKerri Edge is an artivist who uses dance and film as vehicles to shed light on issues of social injustice and commemorate the achievements of African American people. She is Artistic Director of the Edge School of the Arts (ESOTA)\, which has dedicated itself to bringing the art and discipline of African American dance to young aspiring artists\, the community\, and international audiences.
