DESCRIPTION:TICKETS\nJoin a special gallery tour led by Alicia Longwell\, Lewis B. and Dorothy Cullman Chief Curator\, Art and Education\, of three recently opened solo exhibitions by East End artists peter campus (American\, b. 1937)\, Virginia Jaramillo (American\, b. 1939)\, and John Torreano (American\, b.1941). The exhibitions\, organized by Longwell\,  feature predominantly new\, never-before-seen work by artists in the seventh decade of their careers and at the top of their creative powers. \n  \nVirginia Jaramillo: The Harmony between Line and Space presents five newly created paintings by the pioneering minimalist who has practiced for more than six decades. Two paintings represent the artist’s visualization of communication between quantum particles across the vastness of space. John Torreano: Painting Outer Space/Inner Space\, 1989 to Present\, features 10 large-scale paintings on plywood panels\, studded with gems and wood balls. The artist reflects on the mysteries and wonders of the cosmos in these works\, which were inspired by images transmitted by the Hubble Space Telescope. when the hurly burly’s done features nine videographs by new media and video artist peter campus\, captured at sites around the shores of Shinnecock Bay. These continuous video loops—presented on separate screens—invite the viewer to experience the sublime beauty of the natural and the ordinary. \n  \nSpace is limited. The exhibition features 35 works: paintings on canvas and quilts; sculpture made largely of found objects\, and mixed media works on paper. \nROY LICHTENSTEIN: HISTORY IN THE MAKING\, 1948–1960 \nThe first major museum exhibition to investigate the early work of the 20th century American artist\, who became a founder of the Pop Art movement. It features 80 paintings\, drawings\, sculpture\, and prints. \nJOEL MEYEROWITZ AFTERMATH: IMAGES FROM 9/11 \n40 photographs that depict the physical devastation of the World Trade Center and serve as a backdrop for moments of courage\, compassion\, and solidarity \nAll museum visitors must wear a medical-grade mask at all times. After the tour\, socialize in the indoor-outdoor space over a glass of wine. Hosted by Frampton Co\, an interior design studio and art advisory that likes to be surprised. \nBody Language is a new installation at Frampton Co’s experimental art and design gallery in Bridgehampton. Curated by Elena Frampton\, Body Language introduces work by three female artists: Aliana Grace Bailey\, Molly Findlay\, and DZ Maciel. The colorful\, tactile works represent and encourage bombastic play\, audacious movement\, and the softness of connection anew. \nThis event is for Parrish Contemporaries Circle Members and emerging collectors and art-lovers interested in learning more about PCC Membership. \nLimited space; reservations required. \nThis outdoor event requires all attendees to show proof of their vaccination status or recent negative COVID test (within 72 hours).
