DESCRIPTION:REGISTER \nTHIS CLASS IS FILLED AS OF 4/15\nPlease register for the next upcoming Encaustic Techniques class on 4/25 here → \nNonmembers $65 | Members $45\n$15 Materials Fee \nThis workshop is a basic overview of encaustic painting. Participants will learn the fundamentals of working in this ancient technique of hot wax and pigment. The class will explore rudimentary to complex two-dimensional methods of manipulating hot wax while learning how to melt\, mix\, and apply it to create smooth and textured surfaces. Incising the wax\, collage\, and transfers will also be sampled. In addition\, this class will discuss the necessary tools\, methods\, and safe handling of hot wax painting. Through demonstrations\, discussions\, and exploration\, students will develop a basic knowledge of encaustic\, which is simultaneously frustrating and satisfying to learn.
