DESCRIPTION:REGISTER\n\nMember | $190\nNon-Member | $270 \nFour-Week Workshop | Fridays\, October 7\, 14\, 21\, 28 \nThis four-session class will introduce newcomers to the basics of drawing and painting which will include using materials\, rendering\, composition\, color\, and how deeper knowledge of the basics serve to create dynamic drawing and painting\, whatever your idea or style. Experienced students will gain from more in-depth study of basic art principles. Students will bring their own supplies and have some use of museum materials. \nClass is limited to 12 students. \nProof of vaccine is required for attendees ages 5 and older for all events and programs; those age 18 and older must also provide a valid ID. PLEASE CONTACT THE MUSEUM FOR A FULL REFUND. \nSalon Series\, the Parrish Art Museum’s classical music program featuring world-class artists\, concludes for the fall with a solo performance by Chinese pianist Wynona Wang. \nAbout Wynona Wang\nBorn in Beijing\, Wang is an active performer in China\, Europe\, and the United States. Recent North American performances include the Northwest Florida Symphony Orchestra\, the Meadows Symphony Orchestra of SMU Dallas\, and major festivals including PianoTexas\, Morningside Music Bridge in Calgary\, Canada\, the International Keyboard Institute & Festival in New York City\, and the Chautauqua Institution. \nWang has also garnered top honors at numerous competitions including the Meadows Concerto Competition at SMU\, the Artist Recognition Scholarship Awards Competition at NYC’s International Keyboard Institute & Festival\, the Hamamatsu International Piano Academy Competition in Japan\, and the IX International Competition for Young Pianists in Memory of Vladimir Horowitz in Ukraine\, among other important venues worldwide. \nRecently awarded the Performer’s diploma under the tutelage of the eminent pianist Alessio Bax at Southern Methodist University in Dallas\, Wang currently lives in New York and is pursuing an undergraduate degree at The Juilliard School as a student of Dr. Robert McDonald. \nAdvance ticket purchase with pre-event registration is recommended.
