Register for Jazz here. \nEvent intended for active Business Members\, prospective members\, and invited guests.  Not a Member?  Join today! \nDocent: James Allman \nJim is a full-time resident of the East End after having retired from a career in consumer marketing and brand communications with several large global agencies. He lived 16 years in Italy and he credits that period with making him appreciate art of wildly different periods. During those years Jim was a member of the Peggy Guggenheim Foundation’s Board of Advisors. Jim keeps busy by studying art history at Cambridge (UK) and nearby at Stony Brook University Graduate School. \nAbout Elegant People Fusion Explosion | 6 to 7 PM \nElegant People Fusion Explosion features Eric Schugren\, saxophone\, Randolph Hudson\, bass\, Fred Gilde\, keyboard\, and Claes Brondal\, drums and combines jazz harmonies and improvisation with funky grooves and Latin and rock rhythms\, creating what became known as fusion music. Drawing influence from Weather Report\, Pat Metheny\, Miles Davis\, John Abercrombie among others\, the group was founded in 2020 to celebrate the fusion music of the 1970s and 1980s\, while also bringing this timeless music to a new audience \n  \nThis event is planned and sponsored by the Parrish Business Council\, a volunteer committee of East End professionals serving culturally engaged business leaders and organizations by providing programming and networking opportunities for Parrish Business Members. DESCRIPTION:REGISTER \nSummer Jazz on the Parrish Terrace kicks off with Elegant People Fusion Explosion as part of the second annual Hamptons Jazz Fest! In partnership with The Jam Session\, this live jazz concert features Eric Schugren\, saxophone\, Randolph Hudson\, bass\, Fred Gilde\, keyboard\, and Claes Brondal\, drums.  \nElegant People Fusion Explosion combines jazz harmonies and improvisation with funky grooves and Latin and rock rhythms\, creating what became known as fusion music\, drawing influence from Weather Report\, Pat Metheny\, Miles Davis\, John Abercrombie among others. The group was founded in 2020 to celebrate the fusion music of the 1970s and 1980s\, while also bringing this timeless music to a new audience. Elegant People have embraced this style of music\, giving it new life and exposure\, while remaining true to old school sounds and effects. Their repertoire is a mix of fusion hits and soundscapes\, giving the audience a brief but carefully curated journey back to the heydays of fusion.  \nNo outside food or drink is permitted. Food\, drink\, and picnic baskets are available to purchase in the Café at the Parrish. Preorder options are available here. This event takes place on the Museum’s Terrace\, rain or shine. Please bring your own chairs\, no Museum seating is available. All the summer concerts in collaboration with Hamptons Jazz Fest are recorded for 88.3 WLIW\, Long Island’s only NPR Station\, based in Southampton. \nAdvance ticket purchase with pre-event registration is recommended. Limited tickets will be available at the door. All sales are final\, non-transferable\, and non-refundable. \nAttendees at all ticketed events on the terrace or in the Museum’s theater\, café\, or studio (ages 5 and older) are required to provide proof of full vaccination in order to maintain a mask-optional environment.
