SUMMARY:Linocut Printmaking
DESCRIPTION:Fridays\, June 10\, 17\, & 24\n\nREGISTER \n\n\n\n$220 Non-member | $200 Member  \nTaking inspiration from Jasper Johns prints\, we’ll explore the reductive carving process of linocut.  From concept to carving techniques\, our process will unfold. Students will end by printing a small edition of multiple prints. Open to all levels. \nAndrea Cote is an interdisciplinary artist and printmaker. She has been creating professionally and teaching for over 25 years. She has presented her work in North and South America at venues including Guild Hall\, Southampton Arts Center\, Islip Art Museum\, Delaware Art Museum\, Abrons Arts Center\, The Print Center\, The Moore Gallery\, and PanAmerican Art Projects. As a teaching artist she aims to inspire students to develop their own voice through experimentation\, while providing a foundation of technique and artistic vocabulary. She aims to make printmaking accessible to everyone\, at all levels\, on the East End. \n\n\n  \nProof of vaccine is required for attendees ages 5 and older for all events and programs at the Lichtenstein Theater\, café\, & Studio; those age 18 and older must also provide a valid ID. The night will kick off with an opening performance by performing artist Mila Tina and special guests.  \nBaile toda la noche en La Pachanga con música latina “Old School” de Mambo Loco. El evento comenzará con la interpretación de la artista Mila Tina e invitados especiales. \nPachanga is organized in partnership with OLA of Eastern Long Island (Latino American Organization). \nLa Pachanga está organizada en colaboración con OLA of Eastern Long Island (Organización Latino Americana). \nA complimentary reception will be held on the Terrace. Beverages are available to purchase in the Café at the Parrish. No outside food or drink is permitted. \nHabrá una pequeña recepción de cortesía en la Terraza. Todas las ventas son finales\, intransferibles y no reembolsables.  \nCarolina Fuentes\, a.k.a. Mila Tina\, is an international interdisciplinary artist and educator based in New York who captivates audiences with high-energy and empowering solo performances. Playing on an original standing arrangement of drums and percussion instruments\, Mila combines elements of martial arts with dance\, and incorporates lighting effects and empowerment-themed video design in her shows. She serves as drummer for several music projects in New York\, playing the traditional drum set as well as hand percussion instruments. Mila has regularly jammed with members of the Red Hot Chili Peppers\, as well as members of Paul Simon’s famed rhythm section. \nMambo Loco’s lead vocalist and conguero Larry Belford has performed with renowned Latin ensembles in New York. Alfredo Gonzalez (trombone\, violin\, percussion\, and vocals) adds a Latin flavor that reflects his Puerto Rican heritage. Berklee College of Music alumni Bill Smith (piano\, melodica\, and vocals) and Wayne Burgess (bass and vocals) round out the extraordinary musicianship of the group. \nAttendees at events in the Museum’s theater\, café\, or studio (ages 5 and older) are required to provide proof of full vaccination in order to maintain a mask-optional environment.
