SUMMARY:Summer Painting en Plein Air at The Parrish
DESCRIPTION:FRIDAYS 10am-12:30pm \nSession II: July 16\, 23\, 30\, August 6\, 13 \nSPECIAL WRAP-UP CLASS Friday September 10 \nOpen to all\, ages 15 on up. Beginner to advanced. Class tailored to all levels. Students may work in gouache or oil and are responsible for their own supplies. Supply list provided. \nMaterials list \nClass limited to 12 students. \n$425 | $350 Members \nSOLD OUT \nThis summer\, two six-class series of en plein air painting will be offered.  Students may join one or both series.  The first class in each will be held at the Parrish Art Museum where we will take students through materials\, processes\, and class structure.  Students will explore landscape works in the galleries to discuss landscape painting and painting issues\, including perspective\, distance\, light and shadow\, color\, trees\, clouds\, grass\, etc. \nAll other sessions (weather permitting) will be held at specific sites: gardens\, landscape\, waterscapes. The September 10 wrap-up class will be at a special location with a fun lesson\, and a good-bye party! \nNOTE: In the case of inclement weather\, classes will be held at the Parrish Art Museum.

SUMMARY:Field of Dreams
DESCRIPTION:On August 20\, 2020\, the Parrish opened Field of Dreams\, our inaugural sculpture exhibition created to extend the galleries outdoors and activate the Museum’s meadows with work that engages and responds to the Parrish’s architecture and landscape. The exhibition series is part of the Museum’s new Art in the Meadow initiative that enlivens the grounds with performances\, projections\, and works of art. \nField of Dreams outdoor sculpture exhibition is open and free to the public daily\, from 11 am–5 pm. Visitors are asked to observe social distancing practices and are required to wear masks on Museum property.

SUMMARY:Outdoor Black Film Festival: The Last Black Man in San Francisco and elephant
DESCRIPTION:The Parrish Art Museum is partnering with Bridgehampton Child Care & Recreational Center to present an outdoor Black Film Festival on July 23 and July 30 featuring feature films and shorts. Entrance opens at 8 pm. Film will begin after dark\, at approximately 8:30 pm. The event takes place outdoors\, please bring your own chairs\, no Museum seating is available. But Nicole is suffering from a crippling depression that\, due to the stigma attached to mental illness\, she is trying to keep secret. Set over 24 hours\, The Elephant shows how a series of otherwise minor events\, coupled with Nicole’s dissociation from family and friends\, lead her to a state of utter desperation. \nThe Last Black Man in San Francisco\n2019\, R\, 121 minutes\nDirector: Joe Talbot \nJimmie Fails dreams of reclaiming the Victorian home his grandfather built in the heart of San Francisco. Joined on his quest by his best friend Mont\, Jimmie searches for belonging in a rapidly changing city that seems to have left them behind. As he struggles to reconnect with his family and reconstruct the community he longs for\, his hopes blind him to the reality of his situation. \nA wistful odyssey populated by skaters\, squatters\, street preachers\, playwrights\, and other locals on the margins\, The Last Black Man in San Francisco is a poignant and sweeping story of hometowns and how they’re made—and kept alive—by the people who love them. \nAll sales are final\, non-transferable\, and non-refundable. \nThe event takes place outdoors\, please bring your own chairs\, no Museum seating is available.  \nYou must wear a mask to access the event.
