SUMMARY:Painting Techniques
DESCRIPTION:Fridays\, May 7\, 14\, 21\, & 28\, 10:30 am to 1:00 pm each day  \nIn this workshop teaching artist Barbara Thomas will concentrate on how to use your materials. She will focus on techniques that answer\, how to mix the paint\, what brushes to use for paint strokes\, how to “lay in” a painting\, and how to create painting effects\, to name a few. \nThis workshop uses watercolor gouache paint but the principals of painting apply to any medium. Students are required to provide their own materials. \nEnrollment is limited. Workshops will be held in the Lichtenstein Theater to provide ample room for social distancing. SUMMARY:Field of Dreams
DESCRIPTION:On August 20\, 2020\, the Parrish opened Field of Dreams\, our inaugural sculpture exhibition created to extend the galleries outdoors and activate the Museum’s meadows with work that engages and responds to the Parrish’s architecture and landscape. The exhibition series is part of the Museum’s new Art in the Meadow initiative that enlivens the grounds with performances\, projections\, and works of art. \nField of Dreams outdoor sculpture exhibition is open and free to the public daily\, from 11 am–5 pm. Visitors are asked to observe social distancing practices and are required to wear masks on Museum property.
