Sweet tooths delight: Susan Pear Meisel will be signing copies of her new book New York Sweets: A Sugarhound's Guide to the Best Bakeries, Ice Cream Parlors, Candy Shops, and Other Emporia of Delicious Delights (Rizzoli, 2013), and offering samples from select artisan sweets shops.

Paging through New York Sweets is like walking through a candy shop, where the design and packaging is often as beautiful as the desserts themselves. With hundreds of images, and more than 40 recipes from over 100 stores, New York Sweets functions as a gastronomic guide to the diverse neighborhoods of New York. From Soho to the Lower East Side, Uptown, Brooklyn, and Queens, the book reveals the melting pot of flavors that result in everything from apple strudel and baklava to turrón and zabaglione.
