The Hamptons Get Mortified, Vol. 1

Hailed a "cultural phenomenon" by Newsweek and celebrated by This American Life, The Today Show, The Onion AV Club, Entertainment Weekly and beyond, Mortified is a comic excavation of the strange and extraordinary things we created as kids.

Witness adults sharing their most embarrassing childhood artifacts (journals, letters, poems, lyrics, plays, home movies, art) with others, in order to reveal stories about their lives. Hear grown men and women confront their past with tales of their first kiss, first puff, worst prom, fights with mom, life at bible camp, best mall job, and reasons they deserved to marry Jon Bon Jovi.

The Parrish Art Museum will co-present with Mortified NYC, and the evening, hosted by John Dorcic, will include hilariously embarrassing and awkwardly heart-wrenching readings by four of New York's finest, Dani Alpert, Karen Bray, Stephen Chupaska, and Lauren Lumsden, as well as a special performance by our Century Arts Foundation Curator of Special Projects, Andrea Grover. The Hamptons’ own DJ Twilo will be spinning classic tunes throughout the evening to enhance the vintage vibe.

The Golden Pear Café at the Parrish will be offering snacks and drinks for purchase, including the “PARRISH SUMMER SANGRIA” made with Wolffer rosé, triple sec, brandy, white cranberry juice, & fresh sliced fruits & berries for $10, and Montauk Driftwood Ale for $5.

Recommended for ages 18 and up.
