OLA Latino Film Festival: Venecia Screening

The Organización Latino-Americana of Eastern Long Island presents the
12th annual OLA Latino Film Festival, a dynamic weekend showcase of
acclaimed and award-winning recent Latino cinema for a broad audience.
Screenings will take place in the Lichtenstein Theater.

Latin-inspired a la carte cafe specials include Guacamole, Salsa, and Chips ($10), Chicken & Black Bean Burritos $10), and Slow-Roasted Pulled Beef Pabellon Criollo ($10). Drink specials include Chilean Chardonnay ($9 per glass) and Brazilian Red Table Wine ($9 per glass), Margaritas ($10), and Corona and Dos Equis beer ($6).

Mónica, Violeta and Mayelín work at a beauty salon. On payday, they go shopping for a dress, starting an unexpected journey into the depths of Havana’s nightlife. The film, which presents an unfiltered, tough version of the lives of working-class Cuban women, was screened in at the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival.
