Paging through New York Sweets is like walking through a candy shop, where the design and packaging is often as beautiful as the desserts themselves. With hundreds of images, and more than 40 recipes from over 100 stores, New York Sweets functions as a gastronomic guide to the diverse neighborhoods of New York. From Soho to the Lower East Side, Uptown, Brooklyn, and Queens, the book reveals the melting pot of flavors that result in everything from apple strudel and baklava to turrón and zabaglione. 

About the Author

Susan Pear Meisel grew up in New York, where she had an active painting career, started her own catering business, and became a leading Residential Broker in SoHo. Today she is a photographer whose work is featured in numerous private collections. Among her previous books is Gourmet Shops of New York and Fresh From the Farm . She splits her time between New York and Sagaponack.
